Hi I just saw a re-run of COPS which proflied TPD's Tactical Bureau (not sure of that's the actual name of the unit). They were using "Coco the Clown" in a prostitution sting. I had a few questions about this operation.
Was Coco the clown created for the show or was he used regularly by TPD?
Also I have a law-related question. During the sting the unit Sgt. said that even if the prostitute didn't ask for money in exhange for sex she could still be arrested for "lewdness." So was he saying its illegal to ask for sex? Is that a Tampa City ordinance or is it against Florida Statutes? Thanks for any info you guys can provide. Stay safe TPD, HCSO, USFPD, TTPD, PCPD, TIAPD and all other Tampa Bay area police agencies.
