Is anybody else looking to buy a civilian muscle car?

I'm looking to buy a muscle car with the following:
- small (small cars are cool)
- 2 door
- fast (v4 turbo or v6?)
- cost: 20k - 30k??? (could go more, but...)
- great handling (for zipping in-n-out of traffic)
- brand new (ohhhhhhh yeaaaaaa)
- must... be... fast!!!

Do you have any recommendations??? Is anybody else car shopping? So far, I'm looking at:
- Subaru WRX v4 turbo charged
- Scion TC v4
- Pontiac GTO v8
- Ford Mustang v6 or v8
- Toyota Solara v6

I hear he has thought about selling a sweet '86 Grand National. I've seen it and it is unreal clean and fast. Turbo V6 low miles I think too. I know he keeps it in his garage and hardly drives it.

He is the Crime Stoppers guy

"Must be fast for zipping in and out of traffic?" I thought we were supposed to be stopping those drivers and giving them tickets?

Hands down the Subaru Turbo. Unreal acceleration for a small car. Stay away from anything American. (no resale, shoddy build quality, and did I mention no resale?)

"Must be fast for zipping in and out of traffic?" I thought we were supposed to be stopping those drivers and giving them tickets? :roll:The last time I checked, zipping in and out of traffic isn't against the law. However, unsafe lane changes are. ;) Smart arse.

Awesome little car!!! It looks like it's 95% engine and 5% body. It's a V6 in that tiny little car???!!! It's like putting a 3.2 V6 in a go-cart!!! Awesome!!!

You'd have a hard time winning that argument w/a citizen you stop for making unsafe lane changes, who tells you they weren't making unsafe lane changes, just "zipping in & out of traffic". Zipping in and out of traffic does make lane changes unsafe. Pinhead!

You should also consider the Honda Civic Si. Any year will do. One fast lil number. You can sit naked, drive fast, and not be seen by the common man. Just stay away from American cars. Feel free to "ASK BUCK" with any query you may have in the world of motoring.

Just stay away from American cars. Feel free to "ASK BUCK" with any query you may have in the world of motoring.I've owned both Japanese and American cars and I've found American quality to be great. Why do so many people say that American quality is bad???

Resale values do not lie. What are you driving? (and naked I hope?)

Resale values do not lie. What are you driving? (and naked I hope?)Ahhhhhhhh resale value, I forgot about that. Why don't American cars have as good a resale value as Japanese cars??? I've owned both and my American cars were just as good as the foreign cars I've owned. I've owned a Honda, but the transmission went out after about 3500 miles. I bought a Honda because of all the good things that people say about it aka quality.

I've owned a VW, but I think they're sort of cheap. Don't care for'em.
[/*:m:r2ee2gm2]
Owned a Chevy. It's not as good as a Pontiac, but it's still a top notch high quality car.

Owned a Pontiac. Awesome!!! Reliable!!! A cherry!!! Pontiac is my favorite so far. [/*:m:r2ee2gm2]I was also looking at a "Nissan Z Enthusiast." It goes for around 28k. It has an awesome side view too.

Have you considered the BMW Mini Cooper S Model? That thing is fast and you can't get anything tinier. It's excellent on gas and can zip in and out of anything you want before you can say "buck naked". It handles like a dream. Only downside is it IS SMALL! You won't be taking the family out for a Sunday drive in this little gem!

Yeaa, I've looked at it and it's definately pretty cool, but it's not aerodynamic enough for my taste.

The Cooper !!!! An outstanding little speed merchant to drive naked in. Or as the Brits say "Motor in ". Either way, what better time can be had than navigating that six speed tranny while buck naked, hmm??

The Cooper looks pretty snappy. It could easily pass for an oversized go-cart.

Anyone know how many beans it cost???
