:idea: St Pete needs a journalistic outlet that reports crime, as opposed to the Azz Rag Times which covers up more than Chief Upchuck. There is such a publication! It prints booking photos, too. It’s NewsManatee.com which unfortunately covers only Manatee/Sarasota. Chucky Cheeze, put your talents to work & create an upstart news outlet on the Internet: StPeteCrimes.com. Or persuade NewsManatee’s editor to mosey on up here.

There used to be a Tampa Bay area magazine called "The Informer" that focused on local crime issues. I don't know if it is still in print or not, haven't seen one in years. There just isn't enough public interest about crime unless its about some hot female teacher screwing a kid.

Bottom line is most people aren't concerned about crime until its their car broken into or their stuff stolen, but alas, even when an incident happens, its soon forgotten. The attitude is "let someone else deal with the problem."

:mrgreen: Photos of the bad guyz will make false teeth chatter in St. Pete. I once saw a cop friend's photos of known criminals & it gave me considerable respect for the work of St. Pete's Finest. A crime website would probably send Chief Chucky out of the weight room & back to the doughnut shop to steady his nerves -- when was the last time he actually saw a criminal? :P

And don't forget that the Al-Jazeerasburg Times made Marcus Franklin out to be a Pulitzer-calibre staff writer when he got shot in a N.O. crackhole late one night while allegedly covering the hurricane for his shite-hole newspaper. Quietly, quietly they let cop-bashing-Marcus go, where he now covers local news for a 3rd rate newspaper in BumFuch USA.

And Digdog Deggins, that fat 4-eyed cop-bashing bastid, is still on the loose at the Times.

Then there's Times journalist Candace Rondeaux, who got arrested by SPPD during one of the many riots, but a Times lawyer fixed it. She left Digdog Deggans in the dust and went to the District of Columbia. How fitting! :wink: She now reports for the liberal Washington Post.

In fact I now have a web site called http://www.StPeteCrimes.com. It used to report calls for service from the SPPD. Chuck didn't like it, but it has lapsed into non use because of lack of support from the people of St Petersburg (who knew?). I now just report St Pete's appalling overall crime stats on there basically.
