Let’s move on to SCSO’s response. Totally disgusting and unethical. Based on the agency’s official press response it has already been swept under the rug. I’m glad Karla Ray hasn’t let this go yet, but with SCSO, and Dennis Lemma (as well as all his lackeys), all turning a blind eye it probably won’t go much further. Thank god his foot didn’t slip off the brake and his unmarked agency vehicle roll into a busy intersection causing an accident, or worse.

This is a prime example of how Dennis and his flunkies have failed to protect the citizens of Seminole County that they all took an oath to protect. If we are lucky, it just won’t happen again (at least that’s what they are saying to themselves now).

Two, the next day, the Captains buddy pulled the responding deputies into the office to "get their stories straight". Of course this isnt intimidation!!!!!

This captain isnt the only Exec corp member that believes they are beyond question and aslo think they can use agency vehicles to drink and drive.

How many kids and destroyed families will MS “the rat” and ML leave in their wake ? All of this occurring in the same unit in the same agency and nothing but crickets from the higher ups? ML is a great deputy? Cool. Maybe she could be an even better deputy by focusing more on doing her job than doing her coworker MS (while she’s married and he’s married). This whole traffic interaction (or blocking maneuver of a potentially dangerous/intoxicated driver) is an absolute joke. Google “passed out Seminole County captain” and see what pops up, a lot pops up! Even Benjamin Crump has commented on the situation via Twitter and guess what, it is not favorable to the agency. Dennis, his upper minions and SCSO legal are true idiots for allowing this to play out the way it did, and they just did any potential victims of this type of behavior a complete solid. Imagine a future civil case where the plaintiff/victim of an accident is injured by this captain, or any other SCSO deputy, while off duty and impaired, there is now documented evidence that the agency doesn’t care and covers up for it’s employees (well not all employees, it depends on who you are and whose ass you are kissing). Even if KB “retires” now it doesn’t matter, SCSO has already laid the foundation that will assist in any future lawsuits. Karla Ray has two investigations out on Seminole County now. One where a deputy received parking tickets in his unmarked patrol vehicle and didn’t pay them and used it while not on duty and he got reassigned to the court house. The other a captain driving his unmarked patrol car, off duty, and drunk but no investigation and nothing happened to him. But he easily put many lives in danger. Talk about unfair. Then you add the current affairs happening in one division and this place is just falling apart. A little bit more respect is lost each day for this agency.

ME is a very good dude and deputy. The funny thing about that whole “reassignment” situation is this - ME just stated the obvious, but unfortunately he was done by someone he considered a friend (careful everyone, SCSO employees love to screen shot text chats, you know what I’m talking about CCIB). The amazing thing is this, Dennis reassigns ME for supposedly saying something negative about a certain supervisor but this same supervisor was DEMOTED by Dennis for incompetence (or something similar, why else would someone get demoted………..). This has left me shocked embarrased and angry! This has made national news, yet the Agency refuses to address this problem. What am I supposed to tell my family and friends when asked about this. I thought this agency had higher standards for its members. Still nothing, not an investigation into what happened, no questions being asked.....smells like a cover up to me!

The lack of leadership on this issue is disturbing. When we talk about leadership, we are told we have the best in the business. But no one can stand up and address this problem head on.

Do the leaders not want the finger pointed in their direction, is this a systemic issue?

Is this is a problem with this Captain, how come no one has offered him help?

Are we going to throw him the keys and act like it wont happen again?

How will it look if he repeats this behavior and kills someone?

If the patrol Captain used intimidation tactics on those deupties just doing their job (however poorly).....What is this guy actually capable of on matters he percieves as a threat?

Should I consider another agency if this is how we are allowed to conduct ourselves?

This has left me shocked embarrased and angry! This has made national news, yet the Agency refuses to address this problem. What am I supposed to tell my family and friends when asked about this. I thought this agency had higher standards for its members. Still nothing, not an investigation into what happened, no questions being asked.....smells like a cover up to me!

The lack of leadership on this issue is disturbing. When we talk about leadership, we are told we have the best in the business. But no one can stand up and address this problem head on.

If you consider another agency or even leave they don’t care. That’s part of the problem too. People are leaving left and right and no one stops to ask why or what do we need to change to get people to stay. No one cares about us.

Speaking of leadership, stop telling people what their future will be like or might be if they do x y and z. We are tired of these people trying to “out do” each other AND using us. (There are two people trying to “out Lieutenant” each other and its driving us nuts.)

Unless there are no FBI agents retiring soon, there are no Captain Positions available?

Well, I don’t condone what Captain did. However, he will be the first to go up to bat for you. I seen him firsthand, call One of the Chiefs to speak on my behalf with a situation I encountered. He stood up for me because he knew I was sincere, in the right, and just. Therefore I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It’s not his fault The Deputy didn’t do a sobriety test. He in no way tried to talk him out of it. All Captain did was tell him why he had hand-cuffs inside the vehicle. For all we know, Cap was just tired after visiting his mother from the hospital. Who are we to judge or go off hearsay?

While I may not be much in this agency, I am well aware of all the problems with Leadership. I can assure you, the Captain in question is not the issue. In fact, he is part of the resistance, and has much more in common with you all then you will ever know. I vouch for him, and can reassure if you go to him with an issue in which you are in the right; He will back you up more then any other supervisor in SCSO. Although this may be the end of his tenure because of this incident, I will be sad to see him go. Not because of what he did for me. But because I know we will be losing a valuable asset in our arsenal to fix the ongoing issues we face daily in this agency.

There are so many things going on with the Sheriffs Office staff in general its hard to keep track of and who is doing what and why. I get that we do not all know the total story about everything and maybe we don't need to know. I think to have a standardization for everyone would be almost impossible as every situation is different. Even without being able to do this, on face value everyone can see the discrepancies and the unfair focus some get while others don't. I think seeing some suspended for long durations while others drive away from the scene without evening being looked at any further is a prime example of this.
