Dobson was a great man and leader. You all need new politicians and outsiders to turn that place around. You have promoted two trouble makers to temporarily run the department while a national search is conducted. Jenkins had a drive by at her house where her husband was killed. Sergio has been fired twice. One of the times chasing a 22 that was involved in an accident killing 4 people. He should be in jail let alone running a police department.

You have a city manager making 172,000 a year. That’s one of the problems. He was a cop for 5 years then a chief of an agency smaller than the triangle. And you guys hire him. There are so many questionable moves coming from you guys. All that is happening in that agency JD inherited. How can he move the agency forward or train if he doesn’t have the money for it. $11,000 a year for training! Really? Either have the state come in and find that place to run the right way or let the county absorb it. Too much corruption from its elected officials.

What you didn't cover is why Dobson was fired from the Doral PD and then went for a short time to Miami-Dade College but left there for unknown reasons. . He should have had his police standards revoked after his termination at Doral but the fix was in but that can still be corrected. Agree that Opa Locka should be disbanded and absorbed by the county. It's always been a ..... since the days of Rojas and The Chicken and nothing will change that.

No actually Mike Perez was the interim chief, something Dobson never was. Why don't you stick to the facts and for once tell the truth as to why Dobson was terminated. Don't worry the Herald is not through with this saga yet. Wait until they do a public records request from FDLE and obtain the IA file. Then what will you do? Its all there and you know it! Oh remember it's only slander if its untrue. Are you looking for a new job yet? You ought to let it rest!

Actually its a goods day for Opa Locka!

Apparently you are from Doral! Maybe the truth is that you are still out for the man. There is nothing with FDLE, apparenlty your hatred still continues towards the man who became chief. LOVE RETIREMENT maybe you should do the same and smoke a joint.

Wow chief of a city department that is rated the worst in south Florida. Keep worrying: its only a matter of time before the truth is exposed. Then where will you hide?

Which man? Both Dobson and Gomez were terminated while at Doral. Be specific!

Dig a little deeper and uncover the reasons he had to leave FDLE. The guy has been trouble since way back and never lasts anywhere for long, the incompetence and marital infidelities just seem to follow him everywhere.

You hit it right on the head. He should be worried about his police standards being revoked.

So then we should do away with law enforcement because all of you are out on the road hooking up with all sorts of people.

Don't spite in the air because it will hit you in the face on the way down.

Spite or spit? What we should do is hold personnel accountable by having a Code of Conduct, a Mission Statement, and comprehensive policies and procedures that applies to everyone. . This extends all the way up to the Chief of Police and all other command level personnel down to the newest rookie. The problem is that many departments will hire a Chief of Police and then not require this individual to take a psychological and/or a polygraph. The results in many cases are all too obvious as is the case in Opa-Locka.

Then the majority of the officers in Opa-Locka including Perez should not be in Law Enforcement. Killing 4 people on a chase as well as being arrested by MDPD for inpersonationing police officer should never have the badge.

Don't know who your next chief will be or who's calling the shots, but you guys definitely need a more capable PIO asap.

Does anyone know the departments where former Chief Dobson has applied for? Many of us would like to contact them so we can give them a glowing recommendation for our former chief!

Its a sure bet that he is scared to death of any agency that does a thorough BI, which includes a polygraph and a psychological. Isn't it time he pursued a new career field?
