A racist will disrespect people for their particular race. This disrespect is acted out by actions, not just thoughts. The City of Miramar is predominantly black, and the employees (GAME, PD, FIRE Rescue) combined are almost predominantly black. Our Commission and City Manager are hurting the citizens of Miramar and it's employees. Tax payers are getting shafted as their monies are constantly being wasted. At this point it can't be reversed in the next twenty to thirty years due to the debt that the city has run up. Employees (& their spouses and children) are suffering the consequences of the commission's pitiful actions and this will continue for years to come. In my opinion the Caribbean commissioners of Miramar are hurting, and continue, to hurt, many wonderful black people in the city, both residents and employees alike (not to mention others of various races and or cultures.) To my way of thinking the commissioners are the worst racists of all.

Yes they were. Therefore, the commissioners had/have a duty to keep their promises to the very people who elected them. Instead, they failed to keep their promises to serve the citizens with excellence. This is a common practice by politicians, but not usually so many at one time at one place. It should be noted that Commissioner Barnes has, on numerous occasions, voted against the other Commissioner's spending and wasting money.

So if they re-elect these commissioners what is your next move? There is no doubt that they are incompetent but if the voting public elects them again what do you as an employee do?

That's the very frustrating part about it. Not everyone has the same choices. To those who are fairly new and young I would recommend that they leave (& not just to "Boca.") Some already have time on and are still young and may take a hit pension wise - but in the long run may be the best choice. Some are just too far along and older, so for them to leave wouldn't necessarily work. Whatever you do, you must keep the right mental outlook and not expect things to get better - it will never happen. They may steal raises and benefits from you - but they can not steal your sense of self worth and personal pride.

The fresh water pond Miramar used to be has become brackish water with a lot of pollutants thanks to its politics. It's now at a point where it's best to separate ties, and watch it go down in shambles.
Good luck fresh water...You're unfortunately outnumbered, and the pollution is pushing north.

Why are we just now hearing about this "rampant voter fraud" and "absentee ballots"? I suppose you are an investigative reporter with proof that this happened. No one is or was defending anything dumb ass! All that I said was that the voters chose by a legal vote who the commissioners are. That's all! No one- not one person defended nepotism and no one not one person ever said that they were in anyway competent.

YOU NEED TO GET BACK ON YOUR MEDS NOW!!!!!

and what is your point? It is a legal way to vote even the President voted absentee. So you are saying that EVERY person that voted in all of these elections voted absentee? Just asking

The truth is that a certain commissioner went door to door passing out ballots and even offered to mail them in for people. The sadder truth is that around 2% of the citizens participated in the last election. When that happens you end up with a city commission that reappropriates 2.3 million dollars to sound proof a tent (that should have never been built) 2 weeks after entertainers furloughs.

Until the residents care enough to vote this city wil continuel decay.

And your city managers female friend continues to get paid while the cultural center she is the director of, has no shows, lost 3 million last year alone and her college girlfriend works for her making 90 grand a year! Oh and Camasha makes $143,000
