Anyone heard anything about the next order of vehicles coming in?

Heard a rumor that the order got canceled due to some issues with the 2020 Explorers.

Can we have a single thread where the election isn’t mentioned 30 times? This is about a completely unrelated topic some of us would like to actually know about.

The agency did get new vehicles. It’s now just deciding who gets them.

Is that why they gave all the new trainees in FTO a Taurus over patrol deputies with Crown Vics who have been here for years?

If you have a crown Vic and want a Taurus there’s something wrong with you. The Taurus is not a step up from the vic!

It’s a step up when you have an 07 Crown Vic with 191,000 miles on it and new guys get a 2016 Taurus with 15k.

It’s just how the times are now. The Taurus is the new rookie car. But all of us still with Crown Vics is interesting. Even more interesting CSA’s are getting Taurus cars now.

I’m all for people getting to roll around in decent vehicles. I don’t think anyone here thinks a rookie deserves to be issued a shitty vehicle just because he’s a rookie.

I think the issue is more of new people getting issued newer vehicles that should have gone to people with time in first. The CSAs who have been here a while should get the best vehicles just like the seasoned cops.

The brass won’t care when you PiT someone during a pursuit. A definite game changer when you destroy the old Crown Vic. Do you LCSO guys PIT?

We are authorized to pit as long as the public is not in danger.

Public is more important than us deputies. There are more people working in the PIO than a district.
