One of the city manager’s top priorities upon his appointment: settling a $200 million debt owed to the city’s police and fire pension fund. That matter was settled in October 2018 at a cost of $53.5 million, with $37 million in upfront payments and annual payments of $2 million-$3 million for several years. According to a city fiscal analysis, Miami’s taxpayers could have been on the hook for $486 million in back pay and pensions for cops and firefighters.

The bottom line is this:

* 47 million was on the table.
* Ortiz and Francis stepped to a back room and a final number of 33 million is settled for
*Ortiz went S.O.S. - where three majors have been kicked out!
*Lugo got the forward drop the rest of us got the back drop.
*Rookies got money that shouldn’t have gotten approximately (10 million dollars)
* the city cya themselves by placing a clause if the settlement were to be challenged the FOP will be the one that would have to answer and pay not the city.
*So ask yourself this, who really benefitted from this settlement?

*The rest of us got the shaft, lubed with toothpaste.
