An increase in starting pay is all well and good for people who don’t understand the concept of working for a living. What about all the men and women who have been working at this agency for multiple years that has only received a small three percent raise the last few years. How is it right that someone who has been with the agency for ten or more years is only marking three grand more then a person who walks in the door yesterday? You would think that taking care of all the people of an agency would be a top priority, not just a select few.

Since you brought it up, it’s 32% increase (raises) in salary in the past six years. Nobody disagrees that everyone deserves more, give them a chance to keep fixing issues.

Our roll call was extremely happy! 5 of the 6 just got a raise including the Sergeant.

Way off on your math, 18% of any pay increase over the last six years is just a cost of living increase, “Not a Raise.” A raise is considered anything above 3%, this is the scale the government uses for social security. Quit thinking you have actually got a decent raise.

Anyone who started at starting pay around the 2005 era is barely making 50k a year. So you’ve been here for 15ish years and making 5k more than the rookie working nights.

It is unfair but we needed to do it. Cape and fort myers we’re starting higher than us, cape almost starting rookies out at LCSO Sgt pay; so we had to raise the starting to be competitive or we would only be getting bottom of the barrel.

This is true but your losing quality Deputies to other agency's. Certified Deputies are leaving because of the low pay. People you invested in sending them to the academy. People who are fto'd and know how to do the job. We need a step plan to retain Deputies. Also the pay is similar between cape and lcso. If you take what they pay into their retirement and medical.

Don’t stress out. Nothing will ever change at LCSO. Same ole BS different Sheriff. After he gets elected he will be out of sight like the rest. Ohhhh and no more raises until right before he wants to be re-elected. I was hoping the rumors were true about the Sheriff being removed from office but thinking back on other investigations on other Sheriffs. (People went missing, fired and intimidated so bad they left the state and never heard from since) I have come to the conclusion this too will be swept under that very large rug. Lee County leaders have always been crooked. Why change now??? Look at all the crooked people that have worked for LCSO and the ones that still work there. You have higher ups that have been arrested and several that should’ve been arrested!!! If you want to get somewhere in Lee County, lose your integrity and join the crooked club! It should be called Shady County.
