Just when you think we were getting a new sheriff who will not cave into to one group of people , Sheriff Tony says he's been a cop for a few years but a black man for forty years. Ok I was just wondering how stupid can he be, for signaling that race is his first loyalty? Is that why he has been promoting based on skin color? Colonel Alan West was a soldier for twenty years but a black man for fifty years so why has he never said that? Why is he loved by his men black and white? Tony is full of Shi t , and a racist. A sheriff does his job and leaves his race at the door.

You are exactly right. Everytime this guy opens his mouth it’s a disaster. Extremely stupid.

Those five stars on his collar look more embarrassingly stupid by the second. At first I didn’t care, but after watching this guy lick his lips after he talks (a sure sign of retardation) those five stars look pretty F&cked up now.

No, the race card has played by the school board diva, and the pastors with assistance from their lion who lead them fearlessly put them on the payroll and provided them with a unit to drive and with lots of funding. It's always wrong to play the race card, but in the context of what Tony was talking about in reference to being a black man, this does not qualify.

What do you expect? DeSantis the loser chose him to make BSO a circus and that he did. We, Broward County want the real Sheriff Israel back.

I never knew it was tough being a black cop right now. ALL cops have been under attack for several tears. Nobody cares if we are black or white when they want to ambush us. All they see is the uniform. Must have been real tough for Tony being a black cop in Springs making over 100k a yrar. So tough, he walked away from it leaving medical and pension benefits for life all behind.

Yeah, maybe the truth is that he didn't want to be a disgruntled whining union slug like you for 30 years. Some have a bigger plan, some ambition, and others are sheep with blinders who follow a lion who 'MAY" bring disgrace to an agency with his posse of bad apples of the broward left.

Agree with that. Every time Tony opens his mouth it's disaster for the SI camp. GT is from Philly and SI is from tacky wedding factory Buttafuocoland, followed by sleazy spring break FLauderdale before settling in with the most obnoxious Parklanders on the west end. The bounced check story and all else that is used for an attack will backfire in a big way; but please do give it a whirl. It will have the effect of the middle aged Jewish shoe store owner saying to an African American man" Get out of my store." Good Luck !!

Dude, this guy has zero support from the troops on the ground. If he wants to believe the boot kicks surrounding him, instead of the truth, that’s his decision. He has violated the policemen bill of rights at will, and has several illegal arrests of Deputy Sheriff’s under his belt, working together with a corrupt state attorney. He himself has a criminal record that he lied about.

He is no way, no how, going to ever get elected, and if he does, the people who will suffer the most are the ones who voted for him. Because after his recent racial issues have been openly displayed, no white cop in their right mind is go to trust this guy. Nor or they ever going to trust anyone who was a part of this charade. Their making bad arrests of cops and people are watching now.

The race card gets played only when an untalented person has no other card to play. And lately it’s been a losing hand. It’s lost it’s credibility.

Could not have said it better. With the many supporters for Israel we will win this and get BSO back on track where it needs to be. With the removal of some who has poisoned the ground we will be back wit Israel’s help.

Exactly right! That interview he gave when he signaled his racist views about white officers and black suspects, to the black politicians and leftist media was fake in my opinion. That rehearsed soft ball interview should be watched every week by all deputies! Think about who the sheriff will back up if you get in a hostile situation which is like almost every day.
Sheriff Tony practiced answering each question and was most likely at the station hours before crafting his answers carefully. Just watch it again and notice how the interview is paced by the reporter as if this was a tv skit. Makes the media look disgusting if it ever gets discovered that he was given the answers a day or two in advance.

He was certainly given most of the questions. The only part that wasn’t rehearsed was perhaps the statement from Bell. His response wasn’t planned or well thought out, considering his previous attempts to contractually silence Bell with the news media.

You know, I’m starting to like he idea of a Pollock vs. Bukata Sheriff’s election. Temporary won’t make it past the primary, he’s made serious political mistakes way too early.

Sharing racial bias is a knock out blow that he delivered to himself. Even if he won the election, the rest of his time here would be a complete shut down and disaster with a quagmire of lawsuits and disfunction. No thanks

What you fail to understand from being on the inside looking out, is what people, the VOTERS are paying attention to. For the most part, reasonable voters agree that the Tamarac deputies, and most of MSD should, and will be cleared. While its awful that they and their families have to endure the stress of this, it placates those screaming about race- and the other people (voters) understand that it's the nature of politics, Yes, it's awful for the deputies, but they'll be made whole with back pay. Everyone knows that the union is behind them and that they are entitled to due process. The disciplinary action is viewed as an alternative to having the self identified victims raising hell in the streets which is scary to voters; so while it's unfair, it's tolerated. Now, in the case of the dep who punched the inmate at MJ, the voter sees this termination as justified. He was showing off and clearly had little man syndrome. Healthcare, hospital workers, lots of folks have to deal with these types of criminals and do not have the option of walking up and throwing a punch which the video shows he did. So, while these arrests are viewed as the worst kind of betrayal within the agency, the VOTERS see this as somewhat of a compromise which is unfortunate but will all come out ok. The community was horrified when Peraza was charged. The outcome of his case assures the public that like Israel, Tony will also be expected to toe the line.

You are exactly what’s wrong with the public and what’s wrong with this country right now. We don’t care what the voters think is a fair compromise. The only thing any of us are paid to care about, especially the Sheriff, is the law. Ignoring the law is never a justifiable compromise, especially for a law enforcement officer. That’s exactly what his temporary doofus did when he made the arrest on the Resource Officer. It was as illegal and outside statutory provisions as it gets. There was no PC for that arrest or the Tamarac Deputies or the Pompano Deputy for that matter. All bad arrests, every last one of them.

We do not have the luxury of compromising the law for politics. That is not what Cops are ever supposed to do. You’re misguided and while you may tolerate as you say these illegal arrests, we will not tolerate it.

We will see this guy out the door as soon as we can because we don’t trust him at all. Nor should we. He has shown he is not qualified for the position he sits in, time and again, most recently with his jaded racial views.

Amazingly these views come from a guy who has been living no where else besides the white world for as long as he has. He was just fine there before, but now all of a sudden he’s been black for forty years. This guy has already lost this agency whether he realizes it or not. So winning the election would be a moot point. If he wins the election, you yes you, will be the recepient of that mess. And if raising hell in the streets is scary to you, welcome to our world every day. Because if he gets elected, you will get a chance see all of that, because we won’t be on board.

That is a decision that every deputy has to make for him or herself. My observations have been that cops are cops and much more often than not, they are good people, and try do the right thing; even begrudgingly. Can't help but wonder why it was okay to "compromise the law for politics" when it's known that it was routine practice to dummy down a felony for a juvenile; with knowledge that a particular juvenile was most likely predatory. Was that because, it didn't affect you personally ? You'll go the extra mile for some things but not for a victim? There were victims of these crimes for which the law was not applied; it was twisted and tweaked to fit where it needed to to keep the crime stats looking good for an election. It seemed that it was not an issue to look at a clear cut felony, including those involving sexual assaults, wink at the school principal and walk away. Nothing can change the damage done by PROMISE and diversion, but " well... it wasn't MY call.." doesn't cut it. If you want the support, the votes, you need to acknowledge the past issue of "integrity" or lack therof, on both sides of this. The voters want to support the police but you need to meet us halfway if you expect a vote for your chosen candidate.

I’ll meet you halfway right now. You’re talking about an agreement that was put in place by the promise program, and I’m sure you’re referring to one specific incident that received so much media attention. Do you realize we’re staffed for 1500 road deputies? A very small fraction of that number have anything to do with the schools. Who is being unreasonable when your passing judgment on 1500 cops based on the mistake of one guy who we now know was weak in the knees. I understand you have a legitimate argument to make here, and if I was the parent of that child I would be pizzed as well. That said who wanted the community in Parkland run the way it was? The parents and the community didn’t want Law Enforcement out there, it’s not a secret. Which is why the real cops in his agency would never choose to go work in a place like that unless they were burn outs or over the hill. It was known, as one of those retirement districts. That’s why you didn’t have real cops out there. That’s why this shooting happened in the first place. Because nobody took a stand and did what was right!!!! The new guy with all this fake talk about making the community safer isn’t doing anything about the schools either.

Real cops don’t go to places like Weston, Parkland, Cooper City, unless hey are mandated to, or they’re being punished. Because you good folks aren’t going to stand for it, that is until you need them. And just know if you ever do need them they’ll be coming from districts like Central Broward or Pompano or Lakes or Oakland Park. I’m being honest with you. And you neeed to listen. Personally, I don’t have a chosen candidate, so I can’t tell you who to vote for, and even if I could I wouldn’t. But I’m also not going to lie to you about what’s going on here right now. Because it’s important the public knows. And when cops are being arrested with little or no PC or no real evidence, you as a member of the public should be damn angry about that. You shouldn’t be saying you will tolerate that. There’s two main reasons for that. One is it will shut down your police services quicker than anything. It has a chilling effect on the road. Deputies don’t want to engage for fear of being arrested. The second reason you as a tax payer will probably pay for some of hear mistakes out of your pocket. It only takes one good federal lawsuit with a punitive award for making bad arrests and you get to foot the bull for this guy’s incompetence in arresting cops.

The Sheriff works for you, don’t forget that.

Thank you for a thoughtful and detailed response. Much to consider here. Yes, do have to agree that Tony does not appear to making efforts toward proactive measures to fix any of this. Looking forward to a candidate to emerge with some solutions to all of these issues. Agree that it would be disastrous for deputies to stand down for concern about another Tamarac reaction. Hopefully the agency has someone in mind to run for 2020.

You don’t realize cops risking their lives are the reason you’re free to lay your head in a safe place tonight. This is where-this conversation must end because I don’t have the desire to explain reality to a person that doesn’t live in reality.
You vote as you please. Who knows maybe you’ll get what you want. But time will tell if you’ll want what you get.

No arrogance about it. Voters vote on the big picture. Your work is highly appreciated and respected. However, the voters will not come out for this particular issue that you have internal outrage about , even if it is justified; and it is. You are attributing diversion programs and school issues to politics that is out of your control. The public is matching this perception with regard to the firings and suspensions as being political stuff that is out of our hands and par for the course. Whether that's right or wrong, (it's totally wrong)it's what is taking place. Your standing there asking " Where is the outrage from the public about these fired deputies?" We have been looking for your outrage with regard to the 6 years of chaos within our schools where we have school staff policing these zoos with cookies when CRIME has taking place. It was only AFTER MSD that Jeff bell spoke of it- when it suited the interests of the union. No clue what the solution is, but you can't change what isn't acknowledged. As far as the shut down, its understandable. But, in reality, the voting public will assess that type of threat and determine that your admin will react to that by issuing quotas and increasing BC reviews.

God you’re clueless, quotas are quite illegal.

He does and what is more amazing is that his wife or whoever she is in his life is white!

Tony didn’t walk away. They found out he lied about his arrest on his application and resigned in lieu of being fired.

If this is true, he may as well not even bother running. Once that hits the papers it’s going to be problematic. And the fact we are not hearing it now tells me somebody is saving the proof of this for the election. If there is proof.

But then again Tony didn’t ask for evidence or proof when he made these bad arrests. So should we bother to ask for evidence when this hits the news? karma.

There race card is what they play when they’re way behind without a chance. Biden is now playing the race card because he’s fallen behind Warren and Sanders in some polls. Imagine that, Biden, a white man who fought busing, is now pointing the finger at white people.

Just like this temporary tool bag, living in Boca, married to a white woman, hanging out in the white world, is now also playing the race card. I despise politicians who play the race card. Because I think those people do more damage to race relations in this country than anyone else.

Instead of using a public forum to bring people together, they use it to divide people for their own personal selfish gain. This guy is just like Biden, completely full of sh!t. And whoever steered him down this road gave him the worst advice in the world. It will buy him some votes in certain communities but it will cost him his respect. No one here is going to follow this guy with respect now.

Somebody should of told him the first rule of selling out is don’t let anybody know you did it. You don’t go on TV and announce it.

If Temporary (I refuse to refer to him as a sheriff) is foolish enough to run, his arrest, his lie on the Springs application and his subsequent termination will be a BIG issue folks. It all speaks to his arrogant disrespect for authority and how he clearly feels it doesnt apply to him. After being asked to TERMINATE HIMSELF from Springs, take notice, that he never worked in law enforcement again. In fact, he left the state in shame. There's a good reason why he never again submitted another LE application. He has some serious problems with functioning in a normal society and if he runs, the voters will see that Temporary thinks none of the rules apply to him, and he wouldn't have even qualified for BSO had the governor not overridden the process. He is a flawed personality and a should never have been a cop. That is not what we need. I dont care what color he happens to be.

Tony will run not realizing the percussions to not only effect him but the decision making from DeSantis. Can’t wait to see all the crap that will pile up from media.

If a paternity issue with a very sad (and cold) story is in one's history, 10 allegations of excessive use of force, retail shoplifting and changing parties from Republican to Democrat didn't prevent one candidate from being elected, the "big issue" that you are counting on, will not be.

Hillary claimed to be under sniper fire and became a candidate. The public knows that politicians are liars-even those who claim to not be politicians. GT's past will have no impact on his chances in the primary.

Fact checked this. No felony in his history, no termination from Springs, and no resign or else be fired from Springs either. Total fake news. A "felon" is an individual with a felony conviction. So, show it, post it, go ahead... waiting.

The only thing that the public was "stupid" about was believing the LIES that were falsely reported in the crime statistics which made Israel appear to be a good candidate for 2016. Not this time. That's why only the mentally ill poster who forgets to take his meds is the only one voting for Israel.

My life sucks
Please do I have such a bad issue all the time cause I forget to take my medicine. I might take a shower tonight. God blessed Mr. Israel and I'm terribly sorry once again.

Republican Florida Sen. Rick Scott is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to pry more information out of the FBI about how the agency failed to act on tips about a former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student who killed 17 people in Parkland last year at his old school.

In the six months before the attack, the FBI received two tips warning that Nikolas Cruz was a school shooter in the making. One tip, phoned in to the FBI’s national call center by someone close to Cruz, offered alarming detail only weeks before the attack but was never forwarded to the FBI’s South Florida field office, as protocol required.

Scott, who was governor of Florida at the time of the Parkland shooting, has repeatedly pressed federal investigators for information about why the tips were mishandled and what the FBI has done to make sure it never happens again. When the FBI first acknowledged the missed tips, Scott demanded unsuccessfully that FBI Director Christopher Wray resign.

Now a U.S. senator, Scott wrote Thursday to Attorney General Bill Barr complaining that the FBI has withheld information from him and the parents of slain students and faculty.

“I urge you to seek answers from Director Wray that have been denied to the victims’ families and make sure these documented failures by his agency will never happen again,” Scott wrote.

A spokeswoman for the FBI wouldn’t comment Friday. The DOJ didn’t respond to a request for comment.

But in a July 30 letter responding to a request for information that Scott made back in April, Jill C. Tyson, the head of the FBI’s office of congressional affairs, explained that there had been some changes made by the agency. She said the agency has improved the call center staffing and improved safeguards to make sure that that all calls related to life-threatening issues and counter-terrorism are reviewed.

But Tyson wouldn’t tell Scott whether anyone had been disciplined as a result of the inaction on the Parkland tips, saying “due to significant privacy implications, the FBI cannot comment on personnel matters.”

Scott ripped Tyson’s explanation in his letter to Barr, saying the information the FBI is refusing to supply could be “a potentially life-saving act of accountability for the agency’s documented failures.”

“While I have the utmost respect for the men and women of the FBI, the agency’s response to my request is very disappointing,” he wrote.

Ryan Petty, whose daughter, Alaina Petty, was killed in the shooting, was among the Parkland parents who met with FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich in December 2018 to discuss what happened and how the FBI has tried to improve since then. He said the families “appreciated the opportunity to speak with the leadership of the FBI to really understand what happened,” but came away frustrated at some of what they heard.

“When I say that many of us left unsatisfied with the actions taken by the FBI, what I mean is that not all of those that were responsible for mishandling the tip [in January] were held accountable for the mistake,” Petty said Friday. “I’m not sure the leadership in the FBI held themselves accountable for it.”

Scott, in his letter Thursday to Barr, noted that the shooter who attacked Pulse nightclub in Orlando in 2016, killing 49 people, had also been on the FBI’s radar, as had the man who killed five people at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport the following year.

“I am sure you agree that these failures are inexcusable, and there must be accountability within the agency to make sure such grave lapses in the FBI’s core investigative function are corrected,” Scott wrote.

Just a reminder. From 2013-2018 BSO needed the FBI and FHP to assure public safety in the tiniest city in Broward. Since the FBI did not have feet on the ground in Parkland, disaster happened. Yes, clearly the fault of the FBI. They should open a satellite office next to MSD since it's too much for BSO to manage.
