Already begun. Three cops fired talk about over kill for wind testing weed. TPD under Douchebag Dugan and Castor is going to suck.

As a LEO
It hurts to see these guys fired for policy violations.

We have all dumped weed on the ground and cut someone a break.
The way Dugan treated these men when he fired them was disgraceful and he should be held accountable for his embarrassing actions and in professionalism.

I hope the Tampa 3 get to present there case to the media like Dugan and TPD.

It will really show how political this whole scham was

Go read the whole IAB package before you minimize what they did. Whoke lot more than just wind testing weed

Either way. Dugan does not back his officers the way he should. Talk about waiting for a mayor change to make your decision... sounds like he can’t make his own.

Obviously you haven’t read the IAB packet or you wouldn’t be saying that. Moron

With so many TPD brass having commited worse offenses
These guys will get a good lawyer and be back in the job before Dugan gets fired

Dugan is hands down the worst Chief. Can’t wait till he is gone. Ruined this agency

so these three disgraces to our Department should be given their jobs back because someone else did something wrong in the past. How about we hold the three morons accountable for what they did? Or since someone has gotten away with something in the past, we no longer hold anyone accountable? Get rid of the bad apples, they make us all look bad.

I couldn't agree with the above post more. And to those *****ing about it, what would they be able to do that does not involve testifying, which neither can ever do again. Dugan was right to fire them. Do we all follow every policy every day, probably not(although most policy violations are minute and unintentional). Do we all break policy regularly as these two did, probably not. Chief is right to fire them. Seems as though they got off easy to me.

They didn’t lie. They didn’t do anything illegal. If the SAO had the case and knew the facts credibility wouldn’t be an issue. They had policy violations only. Once a supervisor found the first violation and gave them pending file the behavior stopped and was corrected. Never another incident. Then they go back eight months and jam them up. They should not be fired.

There was no evidence sustained of any illegal searches and seizure. There was no evidence of anything illegal at all. Just failure to document and turning off the camera, all SOP violations. As supposedly unhappy that the SAO is to have to drop cases these guys worked im sure they would be happy to charge these guys criminally if there was actually any evidence to support they did anytning illegal.

I dont know all the charges against them but if their only violations were the camera, not documenting and some shake disposal then it doesnt warrant firing them. Suspension and training should be enough.

These guys are drunk on praise and recognition and have lost sight of today's Law Enforcement Model. No one cares how many arrests, stops etc you make. Out of the thousands and thousands of decisions you make, it only takes one questionable or bad one, and your fate is decided by people that worry about political correctness, media coverage and job security. No one here can claim they havent ever violated a policy or SOP. What has changed is no one is willing to stick their necks out for you. You could be the laziest POS here, but somehow they survive because they do the minimum and go home.

You have FTOs with 2 years experience. That’s the start of all your problems.

The ones talking about “disgrace to the uniform” and “illegal searches” are absolute sheep. You guys have no ideas what these guys were and are currently being put through. This went WAY higher than some undocumented vehicle searches. These officers were victims of, the election year, Dugan wanting another year as chief, chief hating Abe, among many many other things. Laratta and Landry were arrogant and everything else but they were not found guilty of any illegal searches which means all of their recovered firearms and awards are still valid which make them great cops. Their downfall was the lack of humility. Maceo shouldn’t have been wrapped up in this b.s. him and his brothers are great guys. Maceo failed to write two street checks on vehicle searches because he is a HUMAN. They combined that with a bs LOC for a “not at fault but preventable crash” and a reprimand for a bad pursuit to say he is incompetent. Are you serious, what ever happened to progressive discipline because last time I checked, driving has nothing to do with documentation. The other two didn’t even have prior discipline. Other officers in this investigation had worse sustainments than him and got verbal warnings or LOC’s. I really hope they get their jobs back and you guys actually talk to them to hear the real side instead of going by the rumors and the bs the news put out. Or how about reaching out to them and showing support, because we all like to post these “I’m here for anyone going through a tough time, just give me a call” posts but how many are actually reaching out. Laratta just had a baby, imagine having to support a family of 4 with a newborn and no job? You don’t this these guys know about this website ? I can only imagine them reading all this bs about them. God forbid any of them take their lives but who knows how hard they might be taking this. Simple documentation issues, it’s not like these guys lied or stole or had sex on duty. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Not at fault but preventable?? Try at fault. I assume that was a typo when your going over 80 with no lights to a non priority call and crash it’s your fault. Just saying.

Unregistered

Actually it was a priority one call that multiple people were going P1 to. And he cleared an intersection, then about .5 miles from that another vehicle failed to yield to his right of way causing him to swerve.

Unregistered
05-28-2019, 06:09 PM
He did not have any lights on going over 80 mph on MLK. Vehicle didn’t yield? No way he could have judged him coming. Maceo was 100% at fault

I have heard the same story for the past 30 years. Someone gets caught doing something wrong and their defense is that some other officer got away with the same thing decades ago so they shouldn't be punished. Wake up. There is no brotherhood anymore, the blue line is gone so dont think that you are going to get away with stepping outside the lines. Quit crying and do the job that you are getting paid very well to do.

Sparky, as I said you have no proof. The SAO putting a few officers on a list "questioning their past testimony" is a far cry from perjury; (a felony). No TPD officer has been charged in the last 40 years with perjury. You paint accusations with a brush as wide as your mouth jerkoff. Again you have proof of perjury bring it out. If you do have proof and fail to disclose it you are just as guilty!!! Put up or shut up Sparky. Waiting.................
