Can you please explain this in more detail ? Initially, who was to be on the BBT panel? More than those 3? At what point are you suggesting that Ted abandoned Israel? Also, if there are minutes, or other documentation of the tower being tabled by Udine, would you be able to post that info?

It seems that he has been spending quite a bit of time getting out in front of the history of the communications situation in his posts. The fact that he posted a photo of his family in front of the tower site as their holiday card was .. interesting. Many expressed a loss of confidence in Israel post MSD, with good reason, so that shouldn't be held against him. But, if he was indeed a bottleneck with regard to communications and is now pointing the finger at everyone else, that needs to be made clear. The concerned Citizens of Broward fb page would be the place to make that distinction; as he is presently courting that group. The last thing those families need is to be lied to and manipulated by an individual whose actions, or lack thereof contributed to MSD. Honestly, his past and present motivation remains unclear.

Is that why when BSO took over Parkland only 5 officers from Parkland PD were offered a pension and the others were told to go pound sand. Sgt Greenburg told the officers not to worry because he was going to file a law suit. The law suit never happened because Greenburg was taken care of while he worked at BSO. Udine loves the cops in public but hates them in private. I know Bob Marks was the mayor but Udine was a commissioner nad he was against paying the police a pension.

TAMARAC TALK - 05-15-15 - Sheriff Scott Israel Holds Fundraiser for 2016 Campaign - By: Sharon Aron Baron

This week, Sheriff Scott Israel hosted one of many fundraising receptions in anticipation of his 2016 reelection campaign and he’s not taking another four years in office for granted.

This event was held at Scarfone’s Coal Fired Pizza in Coral Springs close to the Parkland district – one of 13 municipalities that BSO oversees, including Tamarac.

With over a year until the 2016 election, the campaign has raised around $85,000 so far and the political committee has raised $190,000 according to his Campaign Manager Amy Rose.

So far, Israel has only one opponent. Buddy Nevins of Broward Beat reported last week that Edison Jules, Deputy Chief of the Shawnee Ohio Police Department has filed to run against him. Nevins wrote although Jules appears to currently work in Ohio, he used a Plantation address to file his paperwork.

Rose believes that it’s still very early in the election cycle, and that in addition to the current opponent, she has no doubt there may be others.

Volunteers with Israel’s campaign are trying to qualify for him to be on the ballot by petition which means they need signatures from one percent of all registered voters in the County. Qualifying by petition saved Former Sheriff Al Lamberti $10,000 in costs back in 2012. Rose estimates that the amount of valid signatures they need will be around 11,000 based on 2012 and 2014 figures.

The petition is available on the Sheriff’s Website, however, only original signatures can be accepted, so they need to be printed, signed and mailed back at that time. However, residents will be able to find volunteers at many of campaign events in the future if they want to sign one at that time.

“The Sheriff is out at events and meetings in the community nearly every day,” said Rose. “However most of the campaign events right now are fundraisers.”

Exactly. That's what the thread is about- learning more about him. He did participate in the Gillum support with other democrats in Broward. Right after that defeat, he seemed to be all over MSD on the Fixit side. Don't think it's about bashing him. It's difficult to determine where he's coming from as he seems to have been all over the political map as things unfold. Now he's all over the school board. It appears that if Gillum had prevailed, this may not be the case.
