Rest assured, the last thing on our minds is anyone's payout. In fact, there was some consideration a few months back about us raising money to pay off these incompetents in exchange for their departure. Their golden parachute is understandably an insult to the rank and file; but it's less of an outrage to us. People who lack integrity, are empty and miserable, with or without money. There's absolutely nothing in that package that will save those people from the recklessness of their lives and the consequences as a result. Besides, they will individually need counsel which will dry up their funds quickly.
That being said, the efforts of your union and many in law enforcement have not gone unnoticed with regard to your objections about policy. Yes, you absolutely deserve a raise, better benefits and most importantly, SAFE working conditions. In addition, we do not support the body cameras, as they create a natural reluctance to act. Many of us plan to be part of that effort as things progress in the cleaning of the house which is in it's initial phase.

You’re right about the cameras. They have effectively shut down pro active policing in most districts countywide. The crime stats have been manipulated by not reporting criminal activity at the juvenile level and minor drug offenses as well. All the millions of dollars wasted on those stupid cameras while the deputies and heir families go without a raise.
