Is there anything else out there better than PBA and IUPA? How about PLEA? or any kick ass attorneys out there for LEO’s that have no ties with BSO? The conflict of interest going on with the initial two mentioned is beyond ridiculous. I just don’t trust them. Plus the service is terrible.

You want bad go to PLEA, biggest scam ever. How they are still in business is a miracle. If you need them, they never offer a lawyer, only the loud mouth President as representation. Ill take IUPA any day.

They call it PLEA because when you need a lawyer you'll need to PLEAD for one. Good luck getting representation from this group!

Legal wise and PLEA are cheaper than Unions. They also come with caps on your legal representation and some require reimbursement. Typical caps are between $25,000 and $50,000. Anything above that and its all on you. A average grand jury will cost minimum of $200,000.

FOP,PBA and IUPA all provide better legal services. FOP and PBA hire lawyers at "union rates" which is far less than what the lawyer would get in the open market but its guaranteed work and lawyers dont have to chase people down for payment. Both of these unions have provisions for caps in certain coverage and may require reimbursement for civil awards.

IUPA uses LDF. Lawyers work at their current rate, not reduced rate and there are no caps, reimbursement and all civil awards stay with you. You can also hire any lawyer you want as long as they meet the LDF requirements.

You may save a few bucks with option one and two but when you need legal coverage, is it worth saving 20 bucks a month? Everyone hopes to make it through their career without shooting someone, getting arrested, being under IA but look around and see how many people fall under that category. Is it worth it?
