At the end of the day, the DLE morale is poor. Maintaining morale among the rank and file is one of the most important responsibilities of a Sheriff. This idea that he can blame one deputy for MSD, and blame one deputy for the union position suggests nothing but incompetence.

Even if the public was naive enough to believe the "2 bad apple" declaration, what is he suggesting? Would he be suggesting that Mr. Bell has "brainwashed" 534 ? And if so, what happens next ? Does the Sheriff "whip the place into shape" as if the 534 are acting like spoiled brats ? It is unfathomable that this Sheriff would linger; seemingly enjoying the attention, celebrity and the game points.

This dysfunction is what's on the minds of law enforcement as they patrol our communities. God bless them.

What you don’t know is that the Sheriff carries a large mortgage. He is going to hold on to this job as long as he can!!
Where’s is he going to work after this?

Actually, you nalied it. We all think you are acting like spoiled brats. You criticize the sheriff for not taking any responsibilty for MSD yet you yourselves do the same. More importantly, just when IUPA needs community support Jeff Bell decides to go against the exact same platform that this community elected and re-elected him for having. Obviously you are on the Chinese Drywall side of Parkland. The rest of us, who have been deeply affected by the practices resulting from the self serving directives of this administration, disagree. Our friends and neighbors have dead children.

Not a dictatorship, but this is a paramilitary organization. One sheriff outranks and can overrule 500 deputies any day of the week. That is how it is designed to function.
