A County needs an interim Sheriff, so who does Rick Scott recommend? One of his go-boys that worked on his protection detail.

The nepotism continues. It doesn't matter what your qualifications are or who is the best person for the job, it's whether you've buddied up!

Of course, FDLE knows this already, just look at how the Commissioner was picked! And in turn, how the Commish picks his staff. It's laughable. Only one more year to go!!

Governor Scott has a longstanding record of promoting friends and inside people, just do a search. Qualifications mean nothing to him. With only a year to go, I would expect it to get worse. Those that are appointed probably will be replaced with a new Governor.

The problem with promoting people like this is that they can have a strong sense of entitlement and showing they deserved the appointment given that there was no application process or pool or people considered because they were the best qualified or person for the job.

That being said, this is just a temp appointment and those within the S.O. should be happy that a real selection is on it's way soon.
