Please let the public, as well as all the applicants who have applied for the Chief of Police position, know truly who is reviewing those who have applied for this opportunity. After reading some of the post below, many can't believe in all fairness, that a sergeant is reviewing these applications.

Especially after reading this sgt.'s history and ethical problems spelled out as the past PBA president. I would think many are going to question this situation. And if this is in fact true, there will probably be legal ramifications for the Hillsborough Aviation Authority.

And it is also simply hard to believe that a person, any person with no matter what type of experience they may have, would once again in all fairness, be promoted to a Sergeants position while still being on probation. And especially after the current Chief as turned in his resignation. All promotional opportunities should have been frozen until the new person has been appointed. Which is done in most cases.

But it sure appears that who ever is appointed to the Chief of Police position, has a lot of work ahead of them. There are just too many issues, which appears to be back up by facts, that need to be addressed. Because it seems they certainly have not done so up to this point.

Wow! Can't believe how this good ole boy/quid pro quo system keeps repeating itself! It is so obvious that the Kevin Durkin machine (whose family has reaped jobs and promotions) is still running the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, especially after his behavior resulted in being removed as President of the PBA! Is he really interviewing people for the Chief of Police position at Tampa Airport Police Department? Is Joe Lopano and Janet Zink aware of this situation? Does FDLE and the FBI know of this long term questionable behavior at Tampa Intl Airport?
