He is the last white sheriff. Even having half the minority leaders in Broward on his payroll, his performance in most of those areas was far from stellar. Had a black or hispanic powerhouse from the community ran against him, like the one that swore the sheriff in, Isreal would have gotten his ass handed to him. A one term failure.

"Less than stellar"?? Really?? Israel won reelection by the biggest margin of any Broward sheriff in 80 years. In the primary, out of almost 200 precincts in Broward, Israel won all but maybe 10. He carried nearly all the black precincts AGAINST TWO BLACK OPPONENTS!!
