No IUPA funds were used for Killary or Trump. IUPA did not endorse either candidate. Once again for the PBA kool aid drinker, our local chapter is NOT afl-cio affiliated. Our dues would be higher and we would have to vote on it in order to have our local affiliated with the afl-cio. If you are so hung up on the afl-cio, then you MUST drop the PBA too. Lots of PBA chapters are IUPA affiliated for the legal protection. Several on the Treasure coast and Yonkers PD in New York too.

Clinton wins endorsement of the AFL-CIO

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton on Thursday won the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, the nation's largest labor federation, giving her a powerful voter turnout engine against Donald Trump...

...Clinton has won the endorsements of many of the AFL-CIO's largest unions in the past year, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and the American Federation of Teachers, paving the way for the AFL-CIO to back her campaign.

The labor federation represents 12.5 million members and is a potent force in Democratic politics and voter turnout. Union leaders have been gearing up for a general election showdown against Trump, whom they portray as a threat to working families even though he fared well among blue-collar voters during the GOP primaries.

"This election offers a stark choice between an unstoppable champion for working families and an unstable charlatan who made his fortune scamming them," said Lee Saunders, the president of AFSCME and the chair of the AFL-CIO political committee.

Look I get it, I wouldn't want my hard earned money going to someone I don't support either. But let's drop this crap already....she lost, the election is over, lets move on to more pressing things. Unfortunately this is what unions do when one loses. They accuse each other of doing this or doing that. As a current member of the PBA, PBA....you lost! You didn't provide a satisfactory service to the members. You got too comfortable and now you are out. Although I might not be a member of IUPA... yet, the day might come sooner than later. IUPA a piece of advice, as we all should learn from past mistakes, don't get complacent and take the members for granted. It didn't work out so well for the PBA and we could all vote in FOP if you don't work out. What unions don't understand is it's not about them....it's about us....the members. It's not about what can WE do for you....it's what you can do for US. In the past its been all about the union and their board members. IUPA don't fall for the games, do your thing and lets see where things go. PBA if you want the members back you better come up with a better plan then badmouthing IUPA, action speaks louder than words.
