Why did he suddenly retire? Did he have an accredited college degree? Was there a survey on his performance?

Why did he suddenly retire? Did he have an accredited college degree? Was there a survey on his performance? He had a buy a degree, the same as Frank Major and Jack Lively.

Oz was probably one of the investigators from the Florida's AG office that spent a whole hour and a half looking into the security breach. ABC's Mike Deason reported the time they spent here in his report as such. A major airport and that's what was the amount of time that was reportedly to have been spent on that. Maybe Oz's wife, who works as a PIO at the airport, put that informative story together.
Then they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on an outside audit company investigating the breach. And this was overseen by Michael Stephens in our legal department, who has the direct responsibility of answering to the Aviation Authority Board. All in the story done by Mr. Deason. No conflict of interest or corruption at this airport!
And the amazing, orvrather sad part of his story was that the poor employees who reported the incident were of course reportedly fired as soon as Lapono "learned" of this incident. That will really want to make employees step up and report incidents to their superiors. Better off going directly to an outside law enforcement agency. Because it's apparent our agency can not handle such an investigation of this magnitude.
In fact, in most people's's opion here, the police department is just an extension of the ineptness of the entire airport. When was the last time the Airport Police Department had a press release on anything...oh wait we just had one recently put out by our PSU regarding a recruitment fair at the airport. At the airport??? I'm sure there were a lot of people who had time to stop and chat, or for that matter even cared to converse about this joke of a police department. I guess we ran out of police academies to go to, and the word is out about this place.
Maybe the PSU sergeant who came up with this idea, and who doesn't have any type of degree, should get one of those paper mill diplomas too. He fits right in there with the rest, and he probably believes he will be the next DC soon.

Oz should be prosecuted and his retirement taken away for embezzlement. Taking money from FDLE for a degree he did not have and one he cheated his way through by providing services to college administrators and instructors

Florida State Statute 943.22 - an officer must have a degree from a university that has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in order to receive incentive monies. Richard Osborn was appointed Deputy Chief of Police by Paul Sireci. Osborn has a degree from Florida Metropolitan University (FMU) that is not accredited. This for profit school was investigated by the Florida Attorney General's Office. It was widely known throughout the department that this degree was a joke, but still Sireci promoted him to Deputy Chief of Police. Now there are officers advising Osborn was paid incentive monies for a long time for a degree that was not accredited l. If this is true, an FDLE investigation is warranted.

I just read a Sireci post that praised him for getting Osborn off the hook for shooting at his wife and son inside their home. I do not see that as loyalty to quality employees I see that as two drunken alcohaulics covering for each other. Sireci promoted snakes and those that were so stupid they would never be a threat to his position. Look at the ones he promoted it speaks for itself

Wow, no way, Osborn shot at his wife and kid? Is there a police call or any documents?

Where is the Sireci post on alleged Osborn shooting?

If you really have evidence of a crime you are required to forward the information, especially something like a violent shooting.

HCSO took the report, a lieutenant gave the chief the 911 recording but I am sure he kept a copy

Page 20 of Paul Sireci posts contains the original post and makes reference to the fear in Christine's voice on the 911 tape so obviously there are copies and obviously some people have overheard it at some point

If this really was a domestic shooting, it’s hard to believe it could be covered up, there would be so many witnesses. Especially if the assailant actually used a firearm, while shooting at family members through a door! This would be front page news and I can’t see the HCSO and State Attorney’s Office covering up this case! That being said, if it’s true many people could be charged for many state and federal charges, along with and HCAA managers that may have covered up the case!

Dude - If this allegation about a domestic shooting and coverup is really true just pick up the phone and call the news media. If what your alleging is really true, the media will do a public records request and it’s easily discovered. It would be front page news. If not, stop posting rumors!
