anyone applied for this position? if so whats the status. Im new to this what Academy would this opening be for, like when in the future?

I applied a few days ago, I'm just waiting to hear something back. I believe they send most of their recruits to the Broward College Academy in Davie, FL. Not sure when they would be sending cadets to the academy, but the academy's website states there are 2 upcoming academies, one in August and the other in October.

Yes, I was selected for an oral board on June 28th, 3 weeks later I received a telephone call informing me that I was chosen to continue and I was sent my conditionally offer of employment as well as the scheduled dates of my polygraph and psychological exam. I took my polygraph last week and I'll take my psychological in a week, if you haven't heard anything back by now I'd assume you weren't selected.

To all of you ladies and gentlemen that are soo eager to come work here at MGPD, ask yourselves, WHY?
I mean, dont you watch the news or read the papers? Scandal after scandal, and that's only the stuff that makes the news and/or the paper.
But, you have to follow your heart and follow your dreams. This place used to better, officers used to be tighter. Now we have a bunch of disgruntled people, individuals that like to hold calls and screw their fellow officers (just to name a few)....and lets not mention the contract..... what a joke that contract is...

I will say this though, this place will give you a lot of experience in a very short period of time. We are busy! and we're short handed, so prepare to come work and work and work.....
