If I were to apply for the Florida Highway Patrol how likely am I to be placed in the Broward ,Miami-Dade , or Palm Beach area? Also how long is the Field training and Probationary period?

I think they assign county prior to commitment now. Academy is about 6 months, FTO is 10 weeks. Probation first year.

You will receive your assignment prior to going to the academy. As far as Miami or Broward, the chances are highly unlikely. The chances are a little better for getting Palm Beach, it just depends on how many people are transferring or resigning. Best of luck to you.

Didn't know they were giving assignments out before the academy started now...

Always thought it happened the week of transitional recruits that are already LEO certified.
