Hopefully our chief and command staff will examine the current 12 hour shift and determine it's detrimental effects on all of us. Since Doral started we have worked this terrible shift which has affected our personal lives, particularly those of us with families. Studied have shown that those agencies with this shift have a higher rate of preventable crashes, abuse of sick time, and lower morale and productivity. The negatives far outweigh the positives. Hopefully we can go to 4/10 shift as many other agencies have done. Our uniform personnel deserve and have earned a break.
