We should be. There are currently 15 positions open. Oh no wait! They can't be open. They fired 15 officers to pay for the salaries of 4. But, soon these 4 will be fired and the 15 that were let go will be re-hired. So the answer is no. Sorry bud. These clowns just retired from Miami so I'm guessing that they're hiring.

No I'm not , I'm in another state a stumbled across this department. Thought they fired 15 officers for other reasons so maybe positions where available. After reading the forums noticed it's not a good place to be at. Good luck guys! May god bless you all.

If that is the case, apply with the Miami Dade Police Department (the de facto sheriff's office in the county). Next best, the Miami Police Department, both agencies will be experiencing substantial attrition due to retirements; here is how for the County and City of Miami. Do your due diligence on both agencies and good luck:

PS: The City of Sweetwater is a small town, governed by mostly illiterate people, applying there is akin to diving into a septic tank, the stench will never leave you!
