We all knew a storm was brewing and today it became official. New District Captains and more Majors meaning much needed changes, especially in D3. Unfortunately these changes mean additional salary money for the higher ups and not for us who need it. Either way, if it helps morale (which keeps getting worse) than I'm ok. If we can't get raises, they need to fix the morale and understand we're at our breaking point and they need to chill with the micromanaging, etc etc. We work our ass's off with calls we shouldn't be responding to and lack of manpower, so ease up.

The Emperors New Clothes. There will be no need for change until they get rid of all the real cops and replace them with a bunch of smiling even more clueless head bobbers who simply are happy with the job and can pleasantly say "Thank you Sir may I have another (call) and who are never heard from again. They have successfully managed to fool the public and the press. It wont last. Be interesting to hear if they had to run the plan past the BCC.

If anyone thinks all these changes are great, and the fact we are extremely top heavy is OK, then you are probably part of the problem.

A place that promotes everyone and doesn't fill open deputy spots needs to rethink what is going on. However we know that won't happen. Not all people are leaving for the pay only. Many other reasons. This group won't be happy until they promote everyone and have the rest be deputies on probation. Sheriff you're not that bad, but you have people in your chain of command that are killing moral and making stupid changes.

Youre working for people who have such a limited understanding of real police work they base it on civilians sending cops from call to call and leadership whose only concern is response time and how long it takes to answer the phone before they send cops to the next call. They have little concept of budgeting and taking care of their people and appear to be mostly concerned with looking and acting the part which is deceiving the uninformed and promoting and rewarding their ilk.

All the while slapping themselves on the back and crying and making every excuse possible for how bad it is.

Woe is me its not my fault..it it....its....them.

Police to use purple uniforms to “soften image”
Call_TheCops.com

Last week the President called for police to soften up uniforms to improve public relations. In response the Department of Justice is getting ready to field test new uniforms in friendly colors. Various shades of Purple are being tested as it seems to be universally thought of as a color of friendship.

Senior DOJ officials say the idea for purple came up when a college intern made a comment about popular children’s show Barney the purple dinosaur. “So there we were talking about how to soften up the image of the police. Someone in the room asks us all what we think about when ever we think about friendly. No one says a word. Then the kid delivering us coffee says ‘I always think about Barney’…”

It was a eureka moment for the DOJ staff members. “Everyone, even people who hate him, think that dam purple dinosaur is a icon of friendship and love.”

The question now is what color purple. So to find out various shades of purple will be tests are selected cities. Random poll of the population will be done to find out opinions of the local police before the news uniforms roll out.

After a month a follow up survey will take place. A month after that a second follow up survey will happen. The results will be analyzed to see if some shades score better than others. The top shade or shades will then become the national standard for Police uniforms.

No word for the DOJ if federal grant money will be given to cities to cover the costs of buying new uniforms once the national standard is established.
