BRADENTON – BPD Deputy Chief Warren Merriman III, a graduate of the FBI's National Academy, is charged with stealing. The allegations involve three separate incidents.
Merriman allegedly billed the Pittsburgh Pirates for hours he did not work at an off-duty detail. He allegedly left at 6 p.m. to play tennis, but submitted to the Pirates that he left three hours later. He was paid $105.
In another case, Merriman allegedly had another on-duty officer help him on a personal project at his home when he was supposed to be working.
