The creators of Yik Yak decided to disseminate the technological equivalent of crack cocaine on America. Yik Yak is the most dangerous app I've ever seen because Yik Yak can turn an entire school campus into a virtual chat room where everyone can post his or her comments, anonymously. Mean messages are seen by all users in a specific geographic area.

SARASOTA - The anonymous rumors first surfaced at Riverview High, but the question was: Who would say such things on Yik Yak?
Yik Yak is a free app where people can post anonymous comments within a 1.5-mile radius.
The app allows users to criticize appearances or poke fun at sexual orientation or suggest somebody is cheating. It is online and users don't need a password or login. Users post anonymous messages in a thread for others to read.
The website advertises itself as acting “like a local bulletin board for your area” and allowing people to connect. “News, funny experiences, shout outs, and jokes spread faster through Yik Yak.”
