Thoughts and prayers with Chris Hankinson and his family. He sustained definite life changing and possibly life threatening injuries during explosion at the jail. As a former correction officer and now street deputy I ask/encourage everyone to say a prayer for him and reach out to his family and show your support. He has suffered arguably the worst injuries the jail or patrol has seen in recent memory. Praying for you Chris!!

Prayers being said. Has a fund been set up?

Let's be cautious about releasing information about the officer and his condition. Let that come from official sources when the family is ready.

Prayers for him and his family. Is there a FB page established that people can follow to check on his condition?

A message from the Hankinson family:

To those who have donated to help our family - you are angels and we
appreciate the help more than you know. If you have the extra funds
feel free to donate, if not, please just pray. Your prayers are priceless!

This journey is proving to be a difficult one. It's truly an act of God that
Chris is even alive. We truly believe God is working miracles for us all
and the coincidences aren't just coincidences and the people we are
meeting have been placed there for a reason.

One note posted on the page is as follows:

....I went to the hospital to see Chris and Shannon right before they took off for Uab. As I was holding his hand and giving him some encouragement he told me how he was in so much pain but still felt like he was the luckiest man in the world cause he was still alive and was gonna be able to see his babies grow up.

Two weeks into the recovery and

Chris no longer needs the use of a ventilator. Today Chris is doing REALLY good. He's talking and goofing around as usual. They will be monitoring him to make sure he continues to do well but this is a welcome break from the norm.

A raffle is being held to assist the family in their fund raising efforts:
