View Full Version : WHORTIZ TEAMS UP W REGALIEDO AND GO AFTER ULTRA

Seems like the good friends and master liars/ smoke screeners (WHortiz and Regaliedo) have teamed up with the Herald to go after Ultra.

Whortiz was not allowed to work with pLuto at ultra because of the liability they are.

They are very concerned about the lady having the fence fall on her but they dont give a fck about the kids being shot in the inner city on almost a weekly bases..

Ultra is the biggest event in Miami and brings the city millions, not to mention the only raise in pay the officers see!!!

Hey Ortiz Hater, where do you come up with these illusions?
You are blaming Ortiz for the Ultra debacle? I know you hate the dude with unbrideled passion but this is "way out there."
How about pointing fingers to the Major that was responsible for overseeing the security aspects of the event?
It does not bode well for NBO or the new City Manager.

Ortiz was on the grassy knoll in Dallas in November 1963 also, face it all the worlds problems stem from Ortiz.

Its no coincidence that Regalado and Ortiz are going after Ultra, and have a close relationship with the Herald who writes one sided stories. But why would Ortiz who was not allowed to work the event, even open his yap?? FUnny how both of these politicians partner together to go after certain causes. If this lady would have been Overtown shot and killed, neither one of these bottom feeders would have ran to the herald.

Regalado said Ultra organizers “acted irresponsibly” by failing to properly secure the venue.

“I think we should not have Ultra next year here,” Regalado told the Miami Herald on Saturday. “This incident should never have happened.”

Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff agreed, saying he has long complained about rampant drug use at the event — last year, a young man died of a drug overdose — and the possibility of trampling.

“I feel horrible for her,” Sarnoff said of the injured guard. “We knew better and we should have done better for her.”

The president of Miami’s police union, Javier Ortiz, said he had complained to the city about a shortage of police officers at Ultra. Festival organizers pay the trust, which in turn supplies fencing, security guards and uniformed police officers.

“Civilians do not have the training, experience or authority to handle, for the most part, a crowd of intoxicated people who have zero regard for human life,” Ortiz said. “The poor woman who was injured was put into a dangerous position, left to fend for herself against an overwhelming crush of people.”

Did ultra get sued because of the Ortiz incident last year? Who handled that complaint?

03-31-2014, 08:04 PM
The city was sued over the Ortiz incident at Ultra. The city settled the lawsuit for 600k that Ultra paid for. It was part of the deal to have Ultra on two weekends, they had to pay the city 600k.

Is Regalado going to call for an end to Calle Ocho also? An innocent home owner was shot by festival goers this year. There have been shootings, stabbing and beating over the years and no one ever threatened to end Calle Ocho. Ultra brings more money to the city than Calle Ocho, Goombay, Carnival, etc put together.

Just read this in the Miami herald....

Miami police officers would also be affected financially should commissioners choose to do away with Ultra. Fraternal Order of Police local union President Javier Ortiz said Monday that officers who work the Ultra weekend can add about $2,000 to their pay, a welcome boost at a time when benefits have been cut by the city.

“As police officers we are not against the event. We just believe there needs to be more officers than civilian security guards that do not have the training, experience or authority to handle this type of environment,” he said.

Ortiz said officers are paid a premium to work the special-assignment by the Bayfront trust.

Where does he say he's against ultra comepinga Bernabe?
