what is the normal timeline to hear from an investigator? not for scheduling an oral board but just making initial contact stating they're looking over your app and conducting a pre-lim background check? Thanks

They know who they want before they even open up the recruitment.

With the hiring process, does HR conduct an interview and an oral board on two separate occasions or is it only the oral board?

HR does not conduct anything; all they do is receive paperwork. SPD Training/Recruitment will conduct an entrance interview...pass that and they will schedule an Oral Board. Good luck.

Alpha and Bravo. 11.5 hour shifts..working 3 days one week and 4 days the next. Each pay period equals 80.5 hours. Overtime and details are different. You get OT for court appearances, working past your shift (i.e. late arrest/ call), or if there is low man power on the road and you get a call to come in and work. Details are great..we have more details than we have officers to work them so you can make as much $$$ as you want. Step raises are every year. I'm guessing 3-4 opening. Great department with the best pay, benefits, and equipment...making it very competitive. Best of luck!

I've heard great things about Sunrise, probably the best in the area right up there with Coral Springs and Boca Raton. This is my 4th time applying to a Non-Cert position, never heard anything the first 3 times so I can't say I'm really holding my breath this time. Just curious, do they allow take home cars to Palm Beach County? Best of luck to anyone in the process.
