Are you guys kidding me. They promoted two sgt's from last page of seniority. The one from NBB was a detention tech 6 months ago.

Jailers are real Police, just look at the Deputy Sheriff windbreakers worn in 100 degree heat.

Without mentioning names, the Lieutenant picks were better than the Sergeant picks. I hope these young Sergeant's understand their lives are about to change dramatically. Some of them have no experience. I wish all of the new DOD Sergeant's and Lieutenant's good luck! May your futures be bright!

One of those new Sgt.'s who has been a Deputy a while is too ****y and thinks he knows it all. He will be a problem.

I agree. He needs to learn how to control his temper also.

who cares.. Get over it. Obviously they had something you didn't so go back to your cubby and cry. You people kill me.

I've actually worked with Deputy Mel from NBB. That guy is squared away and knows his stuff. I've been a here for over 15 years and I have not found a more sharper Deputy than he. Especially when he showed me his portfolio, the guy has it. He will do very well and I am sure he will make Lieutenant very soon after. But he has been here for only 6 years.

As for the others, I only know of one other and I think he was a great pick as well. I think this was done very well this time around. When you have so many candidates to choose from its only right to go with the ones who stand out the most.

To the newly promoted Sergeants and Lieutenants. Congrats, keep your heads up and don't listen to the people who will try to pull you down. You all were chosen for a reason so just do your thing.

Mel, make us proud, you deserved it hands down. I am sure if the others who are just looking at your CNN had a chance to work with you, they would feel the same as we do. Just know you have the love and support of NBB.

-Sgt.

Dude, that don't even sound true. It's been at least a year since the last Tech was converted back to Deputy. Stop trying to fabricate foolishness.

Congrats to all. Great picks this time! Good luck to all!

Man Man (the formerly of YouTube fame) was hired in '08. In that time spent 21/2 as a Tech. When he was a Deputy, he couldn't run a house on Alpha shift. Everything about this sounds like a Union favor for a Union Rep. He doesn't deserve this.

I hope you not talking about our dep. I've been a Tech here at NBB for over a year. He is one of the only Deps we would want to work with. He does his checks inspections and he have the inmates on check. You are clearly someone who had not worked with him. I bet you are one of the deps who come on post don't do nothing and expect us to log that you did checks and inspections. It's always the trashy deputies that talk about excellent deputies. Just something ive noticed as a rfn.

Trashy deps talking about great deps. I don't get it.
