they just got a 5% step increase but pension went from 90% to 85%.

It was really the MBFD contract that the police just said "me too" as they are part of the same pension system they negotiate as one unit

The fire dept negotiates first, the police follow up and they get the same stuff together.

they did very well, but the pension is now a contract negotiated item before it was not.

they told me they plan on the off duty rate going up too.
