To All Members of State Law Enforcement Officer, Florida Highway Patrol and Special Agent Bargaining Units - Special Notice
Over the past two days, the Florida PBA has received reports that Service First is reporting the forfeiture of certain amounts of special compensatory leave effective April 30, 2013. Upon learning of this mistake, the PBA immediately contacted DMS to report the problem because such forfeiture should not be taking place for employees in the State's three law enforcement bargaining units.
We are pleased to report that, once this problem was reported, DMS immediately contacted the law enforcement agencies and advised them the special compensatory leave of law enforcement bargaining unit employees that had been forfeited should be restored. This may take a little time since it cannot be done through Service First but will have to be done manually. So, be patient as your agency should be working on the problem.
If this problem is not corrected in the next few weeks, feel free to contact us so that we can speak with the agency about the restoration of this leave time.
