Nice PNJ article. Sheriff Morgan asks for 90 million dollar budget.

Last Wednesday, Dias said the sheriff planned to ask for an extra $25 million. But Friday, he cut that back to $15 million.
One reason for the reduction is that the sheriff decided to note his department’s need for 44 additional street deputies in addition to the new jail employees but will not include the cost in his formal budget request, Dias said.

What happened to the GRAND plan orchestrated by Commander Haines? Why not ask for the 25 million extra. Hire more detention deputies, street deputies and give raises. Instead it's only 15 million and the sheriff will note his departments need for additional street deputies. WTF?????
Add Gerry Champagne's words of wisdom to the grand plan and everyone can see how others are skeptical.
Keep sending demanding letters. Keep telling them what they can and can't do with the jail. They will end up taking it back and making it private. Then what will happen.
It appears to me there is more evidence of the employees needing a raise that can be verified than needing more employees.

Privatizing the jail is the end game. The elitist commander hates the jail and feels most of it's employees are idiots so he wants to get rid of it. He also knows that private prison corporations like to make healthy donations to sheriff candidates.
