I’d never heard of that phase before, but it seems that for the favored few, all it takes is the signature of City Manager Johnny “The Doormat” Martinez on a memo saying you deserve a pay raise and you get it?

Among the folks who got those pay raises by memo was our pal Angel Zayon who got $10,000.

A couple Department Directors also got a little taste of honey. Francisco Garcia the Director of Planning got $12,000, Mariano Fernandez, the Director of Building and Zoning got $12,500, Nzeribe Ihekwaba the Director of Public Works got $13,000 and Keith Carswell the Director of Solid waste got $14,700.

Commissioner “Ethics” Sarnoff gave 3 of his staff $5,000 each, and Commissioner Suarez gave two of his staff $1,000 each. The Mayor also took care of a couple of his staff.

The biggest bump in this group went to Tishia Mindingail, an Executive Secretary who got a $16,129.22 raise and now makes $123,657.35.
