He was ordered to stay at home; couldn't leave his house at all between 0800-1630 hrs Monday through Friday, had to 'check in' every day at 0800 and 'check out' every day at 1630 hrs; couldn't go on ANY City property, which includes his own police department and parks, and his lawyer PBA attorney Anthony J Alfero fought tooth and nail with several letters to the City and State Attorney's Office to have him return to work, which obviously did no good.

And BTW, there is NO policy that mandated him to HAVE to stay home during the investigation. 3 other officers had criminal investigations going on as well, early 2012, and they stayed on the job working.

:devil: :devil: Another black eye for the Creek. As a tax payer I am ashamed at this behavior and how the hell do you pay someone 16 months to stay at home. Even the most bungling of idiots should be able to investigate something quicker. Maybe next time turn it over to students at Keiser College. They can figure it out in weeks. The State Atty is incompetent and you just follow along so you have someone else to blame. Wouldn't it have been easier to bank that salary, collect the interest and THEN pay it back if you had to. Maybe if officers realized that they are going to loose their home, their car and their credit they may think twice before they violate someones rights and lie. JUST because the State Atty is incompetent and didn't believe they didn't have enough to proceed (because it wasn't handed to them on a silver platter) doesn't mean it didn't happen!! This administration is quick to open IA's but how many actually win? Seems like a waist of time and money.

there was no investigation by the creek pd, not ever, not then not now. Which is why it took 16 months. You think the SAO is worried about creek time frames or creek tax dollars? Complete incompetence at the highest levels.

Of course there was an investigation, which was sustained. Taco was given a two week suspension.

Lets take a look at this case. JY pissed off the administration and was targeted. He spent a year and a half sitting at home wondering if he was going to have a job. He had the SAO put him under a microscope and investigate him for criminal behavior. The only things that they could get to stick on him were 2 minor breaches of department policy.

Did he lie? No. If he did they would have gone after his ticket.
Did he commit a crime? No. If he had they would have fired him and arrested him.

All they could hang on him was a violation of department policy, essentially he broke a rule. How many of you reading this have gone 51 to your 40 while you were sitting in a restaurant already? How many have you have called out sick when you weren't?

Administration wanted him fired and they wanted the SAO to do the dirty work. That didn't work so they had to have something to show for his year and a half on admin leave. Take notice guys, this could happen to anyone of us.

He's not the first cop who screwed up and he won't be the last. He did his time lets move on because there is no story here.

Read the article. Falsifying a police report and putting someone (even if he is a dirtbag) in a bathroom alone at tazer point alone is not actually a "minor infraction". We all are glad Yaco's back but be real, ..he definitely dodged a bullit on this one.

I read the article and we all know how unbiased the Sun-Sentinel is against cops. The same person wrote the article in the Forum, why is it so different? If he falsified a police report that would be considered lying would it not? They had ample time to prove a case against him and did not. He may have used poor judgement but there is no proof that he lied. Oh, and by the way, learn how to spell Taser.

Oh, by the way, Lt. , did you know the in-car camera/video was running the entire time when you were yelling at Robinson while in the back seat of Taco's car? Seems your attitude was harsh, seems Taco's rapport with Robinson was calm and friendly. Again, CONTRADICTION.

I agree, the malcontents in the dept should find another job. Take a look around you we didn't get everything by accident. We got over years of negotiations with the CM who has always been fair to the PBA. In case you haven't noticed we are top paid in the county going into a negotiation year. I did not take offense to what the CM said when he spoke to the Department because I knew he wasn't talking to me. I love my job and this is a great place to work.
PS I hear BSO and Hollywood are hiring why not go there and work for 75% of what you are making now

In order to clean up the problems in the police dept, we need changes in the City Commission. Three commissioners presently are a cheering squad for the city manager who, through their rubber stamp votes, give him the power to do anything he wants, and he in turn gives the police chief the power to do his deeds. These 3 commissioners are Lou sarbone, Marilyn Gerber and Mikki Belvedere.

In March, three commission seats will be up for election: Mikki Belvedere, the seat being vacated by Marilyn Gerber and Lisa Aronson. Ms. Aronson is the strongest supporter of cops on the beat and in the schools... actually their best ally. She should be strongly endorsed and supported by the police.

Ms. Belvedere, since she is in the pocket of the city manager, should be voted out. Trouble is she is the only candidate from District B. We need a viable opponent. We are working on this. The police need to help find a candidate.

Marilyn Gerber is supporting Bruce Augello. Gerber's endorsement alone, she is the most avid and close-minded supporter of Rivera, should be enough reason to vote against Augello. But a check of Broward County's Clerk of Courts, Civil Division will tell you this man has a questionable past. There is a candidate opposing him: Sandra Welch. The police must rally behind her

We are Going To Do Something. You need to also: Talk up votes for Lisa Aronson and Sandy Welch and (hopefully) a candidate who will oppose Belvedere. Give money to the candidates; money determines elections. Give as much as you can, but even 10 bucks can help
