Gee, it looks like the reporter looks at both sides of the story.

Obviously an editorial decision – it’s called damage control. Lee Williams’ initial story about the police officer should have included that information.

Williams was fired from the Bradenton Herald for precisely the same kind of shoot-from-the-hip reporting,“Homeless Man Accuses Bradenton Police of Rights Violation,” 9/23/2011. The BH issued a retraction, then gave Williams his walking papers. SHT should do the same. Instead they let him write an “oopsy” story to cover his cop-hating azz.

Sarasota Herald Tribune reporter Lee Williams has a history of spraying bullets, followed by his editors saying “Sorry.” Williams got canned for falsely reporting that a public figure had a felony conviction, a lie that was repeated in the press, for instance here:

Damage done. Same thing with Lee Williams’ first story on the Sarasota cop, which so incensed the City Manager he issued an order to have the cop suspended.

The SHT sequel which the devilish OP posted can’t undo the damage. [/color]

Black sheep of the family = Lee Williams. Middle-aged, 4-times-fired hack reporter. Can’t and never will measure up to his sister’s success.

Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?
Yessir, yessir, three bags full (for the wooly bully reporter to pull over the eyes of SHT readers)

Sarasota Herald Tribune published this “mitigating” story on Saturday, when readership is at its lowest. This is a common ploy at disreputable media outlets.

Newspaper circulation is highest on weekdays (when Lee Williams’ first story was published) and on Sundays. Saturday is good time to hide the bodies.

Lee’s a real humanitarian. He felt bad about the homeless guy’s scalp wound so he went down to the Blood Bank to donate but they turned him down because he’s type AK47.

Who is the Whacko with the 'Lee Williams" Obsession?

They must be sexually attracted to the guy to get a hardon like this.

I watched the 15 second snippet of a video that was probably many munutes long. Upon looking at those 15 seconds of shame, it appears that the suspect was being informed about his impending arrest, so much so that the office takes the time to put on protective barrier (gloves). It appears the officer tells the subject he is under arrest and the subject resisted. The officer, it appears, expected more resistance than what the subject actually gave him and as such the subject's own momentum caused him to hit the wall. At no time did I see the officer intentionally shove/slam the subject into any wall. Sometimes what we do is not pretty, it's not like TV!

Shotgun wounds aren’t pretty either. Ask Lee Williams.
