Got the DCALL email from our fealress reader saying we have to tighten our belts more.

What did they do with all the money we all ready saved? Closed prisons haven't hired anyone in a years, about to fire all the medical staff. Tax dollars are flowing in like never before but there is no money?? I gotta call bullshit on this one.

They just created a 3rd region on the prison side along with all the new appointed management slots that go with it. We had more prisons when we only had 2 regions. Then there was some CA that was promoted to some unknown newly created position under Nimer. Lets not forget about the rendezvous for the upper do nothing's at the Waldorf Astoria. Just some of what we know about. All reductions are only targeting or ahem helping DOC further fail at doing its job so Scott can get his wish of no state employees, just upper management contract managers to oversee his private operations.
The way we are running, you would think Florida doesn't even have the money to keep the lights on at the governors mansion.

Until FDOC gets rid of CAs, DCAs(where they still exist) Regional Directors, associated flunkies and those so called administrators who claim to be leaders, you folks are up the creek without a paddle. There is not a leadership hormone in the management of FDOC nor is there a requirement such skills are required to be placed in those positions. The FDOC is ran by political appointees beholden to the system that appointed them. You need only look and evaluate the performance of Circuit 1 to see the outcome of promoting a racial and diversity staff to so called positions of leadership. The CA cannot organize a soup eating contest let alone coordinating events and activities that affect hundreds of employees and thousands of offenders. Leadership (the real kind) is absent from FDOC, if it ever existed. :D

If DOC is dumb enough to let the state mess them over like this without resistance it will continue. Talk of travel restrictions again like last time also in a few months.

Eliminate the phoney, worthless office of Rear Entry :snicker: and you will save thousands right off the bat. Then cut all the layers of bureaucratic blubber and you will save thousands more. But no, these ass clowns will target the foot soldiers first.

We started in the hole.(as we do every year) So what money??

We have to make up last years deficit. This in no way impacts public safety. They will hire to maintain statutory maximums. The travel for meeting and other frivoulous bs has been eliminated.

Just once look at the bigger picture and see that at least we are hiring where needed and we won't have to travel for training.

Stop whining and look at the silver lining.

I'd be happy if they suspended field contacts on the max cases. They've piled up so many max cases on the specialists that we barely have time to supervise sex offenders and tend to GPS issues. Further, if the po1's don't start getting max cases they will work their way out of a job. Just my opinion, assigning a college graduate with nothing but minimum cases without challenging these young, bright officers will prove to be self defeating. Pretty soon the talent in the upper ranks will retire and we will be left with officers who sit in the office from 8 to 5 with expertise in exceptions lists. Ugh!

I have to disagree. By the size of Deborah Brown's azz I say that she definately knows how to organize a soup eating contest.....when it comes to food Circuit 1 is number 1

Does anyone know what happened last time they suspended field work? I didn't hear about how it impacted the crime rate or public safety. Just curious.

They said it was slight but the offenders with the least contact committed fewer new crimes than the ones being seen more on average during that time.
