The Ladies nailed Rick on the last question. When told that although he always denied it that they knew in fact that there were problems within MCSO. He was asked to tell about two of them and how he would handle them. Dumbfounded, Rick launched into something else altogether that had NOTHING whatsoever to do with the question. His avoidance showed everyone that he has no idea what is really going on in the Dept and can only rely on what he is told by his "million dollar staff". Apparently THEY are not up on things either.
Rick, the people have your number and they are starting to show you for what you are. And please....., get off that 2006 budget spiel. Everyone knows that the 2006 budget was the highest, second only to 2007, in the last 13 years. Its also up with fewer deputies! That's NO accomplishment just a sneaky spin on the figures. We also know that your double talk on "major crime (ie, murders) being down" is another spin while all other types of crime in Monroe county are definitely up. Check the FDLE and your own MCSO stats. Again, you've really accomplished nothing. Oops, I forgot. You have to depend on what others tell you. People are rapidly realizing that just because Rick tells us something that doesn't make it so. Thank goodness for that.

SO Tricky Rick claims that morale has never been better and in fact retention rates are normal as compared to other agencies. I have some numbers for you to chew on regarding the retention/attrition rate of the MCSO as compared to other Sheriff's Offices and similar sized agencies in south Florida..

These numbers were obtained from the Criminal Justice Agency Profile (commonly known as CJAP) Reports filed with FDLE by every LE agency in the State for 2011.

In 2011 The MCSO lost 29 of 330 LEO and Corrections Officers. This ties them with Sarasota County SO for #43 out of 65 Sheriff's Offices in the state. #1 is best, #65 is worst. MCSO is in the bottom third, Thats depressing.

In 2011 MCSO lost 6.27% of their LEO and Corrections Officers.

How do they compare with similar sized agencies in south Florida? Not too well.

So what does this mean?

The attrition rate at the MCSO is the worst in South Florida. That should come as a surprise to Ramsay, but it can't since he is intimately involved in every facet of the MCSO daily operations. At least that is what he tells us.

All I can say is WOW! not bad for a person who failed the Lieutenants exam twice...May 1994 & March 1996 no record of a exam retake after that or a passing grade...

I went to early voting this morning to cast my vote. All I can say is wow Peteck has a LOT of supporters. Nice to see the people are interested in honesty & integrity instead of allowing the bubbas to make their decisions for them. It will be like a breath of fresh air.

For those confused to who Darwin may be it is Chief Lou C who works out of the upper keys the same 100k plus salaried officer who bullied The Caribbean Club into taking down Peteck signs and displaying Ramsay signs. He is terrified for his job so he would like you all to believe that Ramsay has it in the bag. Any other outcome for him means he may be prosecuted for his various violations of the law. Hence he write a diatribe of numerous BS to attempt to dissuade anyone who has not already voted. He views the public as ignorant and unimportant. His only concern is himself. Shame on him he should have known better. Please vote your conscious. Any candidate like Ramsay who must have a team of thugs bully people for their vote is NOT sheriff material.

I have found this board through NakedConch.com I believe the postings to be of interest to the community. With that said I find that leadership trickles down. A honest leader with morals and integrity breeds a staff of the same. Why you may ask? Because individuals who are not like the leader would not be happy to work in an environment where deceitful practices are not the norm and are unacceptable.

Reading this board tells me the upper admin who have been identified as writing less than flattering postings and sometimes even to the point of out right rudeness are taking their behavior cues from their leader Mr. Ramsay. How pathetic these grown men and women are behaving and these are our examples for the youth to look up to? I think not.
