Homestead might still be a good Dept. don't know but back in the day it was a very busy area with Metro coming in just to get part of the action. Other Depts were recruiting Homestead officers. New chief CI came in and cleaned house of the good old boys that played too much with thier airboats

homestead cops probably experience 3 times as much as other local agencies ;.population has boomed but the dept has not grown ,cops are going from call to call, that is what makes them far more experienced then many other officers in dade This is also why when they leave to go to other departments they move up rapidly ,look how many of them r now Lts. with Miami -Dade
