Since the beginning of the year, there have been 20 car burglaries that appear to be the work of a rather sophisticated group.

"It's usually a group traveling from beach to beach," explains Capt. Paul Richard.

"It is a pretty fast process," says Richard. "It's not something that would attract the attention of a passerby."

Richard says the couple is most likely part of a group responsible for other thefts. "They'll quickly take that credit card, go to a mall or some electronics store and rack up charges, most often before the victim has even left the beach," he says.

ok, where to start.................How did this guy make it to the rank of Capt.?? In my opinion and we are allowed to give opinions without being deleted........The man is smart, i'll give him that...However, Leader-No!!!...............You are the Capt. of patrol....Leave your office and get out with the troops.. You know the people working under you........There are people that you are leading that has never seen you or heard your voice....Did you know that Sarasota County extends to Englewood and Northport?? Have you driven in these areas? Do you know how long it takes to get from Warm Mineral Springs to Englewood if a Deputy needs help? A weak chain of command destroy an entire agency...................Not a slam, just my opinion!
