Hiring process

I am going to apply this week, I am LEO cert. and have 10 years experience. Does anyone know how long the hiring process takes??? is it around a couple months or a year or more? Any info would be great, thanks and stay safe.

4-6 Months...I'm on month 4 so more towards the 6 for me it looks like.

6 months would be quick. there were supposedly 20-25 vacancies agency wide in the last few months with retirements, deaths, departures etc. Orange county is one of the few agencies hiring right now, duval, dade county and a bunch of other places just pinkslipped 100's of officers so what was a high competition has gotten even worse. That being said it can be a really great place to work

How long on average does it take to be contacted after submitting the initial application? Applied under the "currently attending academy" option.
