He is truly the best candidate for the job. I wish him well and hope to see him get his fourth star. He really deserves it. A true friend, loyal public servant and fair supervisor...He's da man!!!

Fair supervisor....maybe we should ask the countless sheriffs office employees Rick has threatened or just ignored because they are not openly supporting him. Loyal public servant...who openly uses his position to campaign for sheriff while on duty at the sheriffs office and uses other sheriffs office employees on duty to campaign for him. Lt's handing out pettions to sgt's on duty in staff meetings. Or sending three lt's and a capt to a rotary meeting on duty to campaign for him. Or using a business in the community to hand out campaign material....but wait that business has a contract with the sheriffs office. That's the most deserving canidate?

Well if ya have proof then put it out there, file a complaint with the Supervisor of Elections or State's Attorney. Otherwise take your ill feelings with you to the ballot box and vote for someone else. Leave the vitriol and baseless (that means not having the balls to file a complaint) anonymous attacks out of the election. These baseless anonymous tactics leave you no better than what your accuse Rick Ramsay of doing.

maybe a good sheriff would get rid of two long time deputies becaue they got cancer....get rid of another because he was in an on duty car accident. Maybe a good sheriff would fire a 20 plus year dispatcher because he is not sure what team she plays on. Maybe a good sheriff would start having sex with a woman married to one of his sergeants..while they were still married.. maybe a good sheriff would ask on duty detectives to investigate a political canidate in order to harm the canidate. Maybe a good sheriff would demote a detective for sleeping with his ex girlfriend...maybe a good sheriff would have on duty deputies show up at his fund raiser on tax payer time.

Well to do civilian here that always looks out for public servants.

I am not interested in becoming even an auxiliary officer, even though it has been offered. I prefer looking from the outside in and be able to render an honest opinion about what the public sees and honestly, we are very happy with the S.O. as it is. So if this is a trend to continue with Rick Ramsay's leadership, I will vote for him. Hands Down, so will my family!

The Owner of Kiffney's inc gun shop "MCSO Sgt Kiffney" who was MIA when Deputy Powers sped to find him and died in a car accident on June 22, 2010. He was later found at his gun shop, on duty , after being MIA for over 45 minutes ... safe.
He has 3 to 4 sustained neglect to duties in his internal affairs file now, including Deputy Powers incident. Guess for what ......... Not answering his radio, not being where he was suppose to be. So what happpens on the night Powers died ..... he was not answering his radio, he was where he was not suppose to be .......... AGAIN ........................

Sounds like 315 has some interest or bad feelings towards everyone here at MCSO. To bad whoever it is can't see "the truth" as he or she puts it. There comes a time to put things to rest and move on with your life. Stop the conspiracy theory's , I mean really.

No bad feelings towards all at the MCSO , can not be like that. Can't judge everyone because of a few. And no it will never be time to move on for the family of the deputy that died. But it seems pretty clear what was and was not done in the investigation surrounding the deputies death. You would want the same if it was your family member and you are made aware and see all there is too see in that investigation. it is what it is no matter what you or I say , the facts are there in writing , I nor you placed them there. ANd I m sure there will be more to come out , again in black and white and not from my mouth , the citizens have the right to know the facts of who they look up to for help or vote for that's all. I see they have you fool , politics and police do not mix at all, the sheriff should be someone assigned and not elected , that leaves too much room for corruption, some of your voters will come back and throw that in his face and demand favors etc.

I think it's pretty clear who wrote this (315). The incident was a tragedy, but it's clear from the lawsuits that the plaintif is suing everybody like a shotgun blast hoping to get something. Kiffney may be brown nosing Ramsay realizing he will win the election, but he has never been a favorite of any of the administration. He has been a problem child occasionally with his co-workers describing him as having questionable character. The donations from Kiffney are for self serving reasons since the internal discipline whether you agree with it or not has already been dealt. There are those within the agency that agree with you that Kiffney should have received more severe discipline. The comments saying the donations show corruption or a link between Kiffney and Ramsay is a far stretch though.

WASNT TARGETING RAMSAY he is not the sheriff yet, he still has to follow orders from the other one above.

OK............. So 315 what you are saying is that anyone can just step up and donate close to $ 3000- to someone, lol. Do yourself a faver and research the law like any good cop would and you might find the truth that you can not do that. If you look closely you will see that they are not donations, lol......
