Havent you noticed...DOUBLE DIPPERS...are running the place. They are the ones with the power and influence it is not the cpo or co its the Judges, $150,000 Wardens and $300,000 Doctors that retired and then used their influence to come back in. They are not leaving!!!

Double dipping is completely different from drop. Double dippers left for 30 days when they were allowed to and then returned to their same or even in some cases a higher position. they now collect their current salary and their pension (hence the term double dipping). Being in drop just locks in your pension while you work up to 5 more years, you do not collect 2 checks so it is not double dipping.

I would say it is - you are getting your retirement its just put into an account for that time earning interest. In reality its the same thing. Salary + retirement for the same job while still working.

You are wrong because you do not have access to your retirement check while in drop. It really is not too much of a difference as staying in the frs, especially now that drop only pays 1.3% on your money. You get a better return by staying in frs. Totally different from being a double dipper and actually collecting a pension while collecting a salary and working on another pension.

No its not its just it adds up for those years you are getting a salary and retirement for the same job you are working. Try that spin somewhere else. Better return ?- you better do the math by subtracting you wouldnt be getting that retirement sum bult up for 5 years or so if you kept working without DROP. DROP is no different than double dipping.

Okay, we have to give you DROP is technically double dipping. But when Scott and the criminal legislature attack its state employees they attack on two separate fronts. No Dbl. Dip. is not like being a Florida politician who Dbl. Dip. by collecting a salary and collecting BRIBES from the private sector to move business their way. I did my time, I entered Drop, I retired and in my case instead of the state wanting be back they wanted me dead. Drop has been one of those benefits that was not available to the private sector but sure often was a sweet deal. Now the $150,000 wardens and the $175,000 Judges and the $300,000 Doctors who entered drop, retire and waited the 30 days to come back are the real enemy. If the state agencys were not able to find replacements (and they had 5 years) when these people retired then those administrators should be fired. In the end cuts will be determined by the contracts and the political will of the crime syndicate running the Florida Legislature. Whats unfortunate is when many of our brother and sisters get tosed the Republicans will have won the election cut unemployment comp. and call you worthless because you dont have a job.

LOL. What doctor makes 300000 and what warden makes 150000? Not even close. Check your facts.

In the grand scheme of things a few Doctors making less than $200,000 a year is insignificant. I admit doing no research, but I am comfortable with saying that very few working doctors don't make much more than $200,000 a year.
I retired a couple of years ago, so for me I have my pension and benefits. I completed DROP and I worked as hard those last five years as I ever worked. In no way do I feel that I got something I did not earn.
If I was still an active employee, I wouldn't waste a minute on those in DROP or double dippers, my concern would be how do I hang on to my job. I would be writing letters, sending e-mails, I would be all over my union guys, I would do everything I could legally do to get the message out that State employees serve a worthwhile function at an affordable cost and that privatizing my job is ultimately a bad bargain for the taxpayer.
This forum could be a useful tool in organizing to get that kind of message out. Unfortunately, many seem to spin their wheels in regret, petty beefs, and fantasies about having some nifty job instead of the one they have.
Governor Scott has not given up on privitizing every State job that he can, and for those he can't, he wants those employees working for minimum wage with no benefits. You may not survive his tenure as State employees, but you all ought to fight as hard as possible if for no other reason then to make the man work up a sweat.

SFRC GUEST:
Directions: In Dade County: Take Turnpike south, exit 41st Street, right at light and facility is about two miles on left. Or, take SR-826 (Palmetto Expressway), exit 36th Street West (which becomes 41st Street) and facility is about 6.2 miles on left.

What do you care what a Warden makes because before the year is up you will be making $12.00 an hour for GEO and your boss will not be a Warden but will be a Buisness Manager.
