Is it just me? Doesn't this concern anyone else? In direct violation of "separation of powers" and the city charter, the commissioners have now taken over the daily operation of the police department. In effect, opening the door and dictating the action or non-action of law enforcement in exchange for political favors. This has truly become a banana republic. The only oversight the city manager should have over the chief is to ascertain if promotions and demotions are budgeted. That's it! Any other involvement is a huge conflict of interest.
