Overtime costs always wins for small numbers and short periods compared to full staffing. Overtime is always cheaper because, full staffing brings health insurance, pension costs, wokrers comp costs, cars, uniforms and training, but it doesn't account for fatigue. illness, productivity decline. Right now overtime is good to make up for the theft from your salary, but in the long run it is not good for you or the department.

Fatigue my butt. Bring on the OT. I took a pay cut last year and am going to be taking one this year. I need the overtime so don't stop it.
