View Full Version : Fop: Attack the Mayor more not just the Chief sellouts.

Our fight is against the city of Miami commission and the Mayor also! Why haven't you openly attacked the mayor you seem more focused on the Chief then the corrupt politicians.

I don't care if you have a mission against the chief but I want the same effort placed against city officials.

Have you guys lost your way?

What happened to your fighting spirt like the Diaz days?

I understand your concern about overtime but your Wrong

Overtime break down:
let's say salary is 25 an hour

Regular shift officer= 10h x salary$25 = 250

Overtime officer=. 5h x salary $25(x1.5) = 187.5

You are wrong about OT and some of us depend on it. Unless Javier your willing to share those off duties you horde

Subject: Financial Urgency Solution

It’s 10 o’clock on a Saturday night. While all of you are sleeping tucked away safe with your families, the men and women of the Miami Police Department are protecting your community. While writing this email, several Police Officers are yelling for backup while pursuing a suspect on foot that just committed a theft at a pharmacy. ELEVEN of the Police Officers (in the South District alone) responding as back up are on overtime due to the mismanagement of patrol staffing.

No one cares.

Our Chief has lowered the minimum staffing in the North and South District.

No one cares.

The Chief just lowered the minimum staffing numbers in Coral Way (which has increased crime) meaning less police protection for our residents. This is just one example of diminished service to our community.

No one cares.

Your administration is ready to impose a contract using “financial urgency” as an excuse to not honor our union contract. This is the same administration that just voted unanimously to roll back taxes. The City is asking for 7 million dollars in concessions from each union.

What is mindboggling is the fact that the Fraternal Order of Police has given a proposal that by simply reallocating manpower in our police force, it would increase uniform patrol and save 7 million dollars. It would also stop soaring overtime costs. The Fire Chief has adopted our idea for their department in order to soften the blow to their firefighters. Not our Police Chief. He rather hire more Police Officers and sacrifice our pay and benefits. Thanks to you all imposing contracts, we are becoming some of the worst paid Police Officers in Miami-Dade and Broward County.

You want to save our city? We have a simple plan:

• LAYOFF the HUNDREDS of non-essential employees and cronies (from the Mayor’s office) that have been hired since 2009 when we allegedly had a hiring freeze.
• Stop spending money for all in kind services.
• Reallocate manpower as the fire department has done and save millions of dollars.

NINETEEN Police Officers were drafted on OVERTIME just to maintain minimum patrol service today. I thought we were forecasted to only be drafting a maximum of four per day. The Miami Police Department will be over budget this fiscal year. The FOP keeps saying it.

No one cares.

We ask that the City Manager and our Commissioners to do what is right. Start caring. Impose solutions that will help us today, not more cuts to our benefits which will be just a temporary band-aid. When you call 911 and seconds count, you can thank the Chief and yourselves for diminishing police service.

Sincerely,

Sergeant Javier Ortiz, Vice President
Miami Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #20

Even when Javi writes a letter to the mayor and commissioners he still attacks the chief.

Listen Javi you prick stop trying to run the police department, leave TOS along and focus all your effort on going after the mayor

Disgraceful Focus the real attentions on the Mayor.

We've been shafted 2 years going on 3. IF YOU CANT FIND THE CORRUPT SPENDING OF THE REGALADO BUDGETS YOU NEED TO BE REPLACED.

ALL I SEE IS CHIEF CHIEF CHIEF CHIEF CHIEF CHIEF CHIEF

The 1.5-1.6 million their is not the only funds you should be attacking.

Quit, Resign, OR GET ON BOARD

Screw TOS. Wait till you all take a $7000 paycut to drive rentals and pretend like your a private tactical army. That's when you'll realize that Javi is right and you're all in it for your own personal instant gratification. You'll be payingnfor your cars and lose all your pays.

Let's keep TOS. Expo is laughing all the way to the bank.

Bunch of morons. What's YOUR plan when you kick te FOP out? You have no plan because you're a moron.

screw you, do you really think it is TOS causing a shortage in the budget?? or even the police department as a whole??

the mayor and commissioners are the ones causing the shortage with unnessesary spending. As soon as they declared a financial urgency then ALL UNESSESARY SPENDING SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED...CITY WIDE

I can only pray that all u guys realize that Expo and company dont give a shit about you. They are all in the Drop. The furloghs wont hurt them. They have a political agenda ask Justin Garicia? What did he do on his a-form and in exchange for what. Lets ask Expo and Al... This will destroy the last of their BS corruption arrests. Al they can do is create and trump up charges... It is documented Al and Expo...Do not think that you are beyond accountability.........If push comes to shove it will all come to light..... Lets make things wright stop with ruining peoples lives.........
