Non-cert Hiring

Anyone know if they're actually going to hire anyone?

The city will not longer be hiring anybody for this year. They have received approx 1000 applicants that they are not processing for the position of PO. (certified and non certifed)

You don't get 1000 apps and then not hire anyone. It's a waste of time and money for the city. If anything, I would imagine they'd process some apps, just not all of them.

After November.

I bet only certified get hired, so expect a lot of new lazy corrections crossovers and academy leftovers.

It's funny because half or maybe more of those "certified" applicants won't be able to pass the Civil Service exam, let alone psyche or CVSA. If money is set aside in the budget for sponsoring applicants, then they should probably sponsor at least a few people alog with some certs. At least give them a fair chance to compete during the hiring process testing.
