Chief Exposito's / Blom mismanagement and transferring hundreds of officers from patrol to specialized units is creating a large number of patrol officer's shortage. This is forcing min staffing to go below the mandated number and obligating the dept to draft approx 6-10 Officer to work daily on overtime. Thats approximately 80-100 hours extra of unplanned overtime per shift! Eventually it will reflect millions of unplanned budgeted overtime payment.

At the end "WE" the employees, will be asked to give up additional pay cuts and benefits to cover the budget short fall.

Chief Exposito is a well respected professional in the law enforcement community who has the best interests of the police department in mind. He has taken this department into the new era of law enforcement. Mayor Regalado is the ultimate buffoon and a laughing stock of the south Florida community. He is an individual of dubious character and has surrounded himself with individuals of like character. He is a detriment to this community and should be removed immediately.

From what I see A/C Blom has raised the minimum staffing in several areas while keeping the specialized as well as proactive units fully staffed to deal with proactive and specialized needs. I saw his memo to the chief stating that the overtime used was actually mitigated by the salary savings realized from the 46 vacant positions and that he was very concerned that the Mayor advised the sponsors of the 3 kings as well as the Jose Marti parade that they would not have to pay for the police services and that the city would pick up the tab. Unfortunately, it's the police that gets stuck with the overtime tab. I guess the mayors pals at Univision and Linclon Marti Schools are very grateful for his generosity. As for Expo and Blom it must be very difficult to operate the department when you have crooked politicians with their hand in the cookie jar.

What good is raising minimum staffing and not increasing manpower. Just raising the amount of shortages and people that have to be drafted to cover the raised minimum staffing. Makes no sense

Chief Exposito is not a true professional who has taken the department into the ground" so to speak. He has surrounded himself with incompetent unprofessionals who do not have what it takes to make this a truly professional organization. The only place that this chief deserves to be is (RETIRED).
