Wheres the One Percent Board?

With the state legislators flip flopping and again going after our one percent money big time where's the one percent board? Still no information from them, no web page for updating information and no answers to it's member's.

Sorry Guys, but good authority tells me that the 1% is a thing of the past. The city is working on a plan whereby the 1% will be used to help subsidize the pension contribution much the same way that other cities do. What you have in your account as of Sept. 30, 2011 will be yours to keep. Remember boys and girls, it's not yours to keep until the day you retire and walk out the door.

1. You hate the 1% because they have been handing out hundred of thousands of dollars to members for free and returning higher yields then many money managers or mutual funds. Also, I have never received a paycut or loss of benefits because of anything the 1% board ever did.

2. You hate to see people be awarded for their hard work. It wasn't the Lieutenant who was honored, it was the entire Robbery Unit. Why wasn't the FOP present to celebrate the hard work of their dues paying members.

3. There are 47 lieutenants in this Department who deserver to be given a a promotion exam. There is only person occupying the rank of captain in the department, although there are at least twelve positions on the books. Almost all lieutenants are dues paying members of the FOP. Why isn't the FOP fighting the battle for the lieutenants? Not to mention that current Sergeants need the lieutenants to get promoted so that they can one day get promoted to lieutenant.

It appears that certain members of this department who are on the board have a hard on for the lieutenant. Let it go already. you won the election. Can we please just get our lost benefits back!

I tried to find their web page to find out what was going on but they must be keeping it a secret like some dinner meetings? Wonder what else is being hidden from us maybe some other secrets they have forgot to mention I remember now THEY DONT HAVE A WEB PAGE DO THEY. Wonder what they could be hidding?

FYI,Captains are part of contract you fool. It's part of Civil service but FOP,Like the staff and politicians,want to keep them out so they can continue playing games with the Commanders.

For many years the board has paid out huge amounts of money to retirees simply for coming to work. The fund takes in money from the state and then invests that money using the best money managers around. They have their ups and downs along with the market, but they still pay out regularly. Where else can you get around $200 after 25 years or so FOR FREE? It's true the fund is under attack in Tallhassee and the attorneys are fighting but in the current political climate pensions and those who earn them are not popular. Hopefully we will keep it.
